You have a first inning like that, you know it won't get the job done when you're facing a staff like that, and I mean their whole rotation, ... Because of me, Garland was able to ease into the game.

Garland has always had less retail than any of our neighbors, ... This is going to help turn that around. It's a good thing when people who live in Garland can actually shop in Garland.

I don't [care] what he uses, as long as at the end of the night we've got six, seven, eight innings out of his [butt] with a chance to win the game. We've been picking it up as a staff. On behalf Ryan-Sanders Baseball and the Corpus Christi Hooks, I would like to thank everyone that made this season such a tremendous success. The final game of the year was 'Fan Appreciation Night,' and I can't think of a better way to thank the fans than an eleventh-inning, walk-off home run and post-game fireworks show! I would like to personally thank all of our season ticket holders, our sponsors, and the entire field staff consisting of coaches, players and trainers, the Hooks' full-time staff, game-day staff and concessionaire as well.

It's like anything else. It's start Game 1 of the playoffs or the first game of the second half. It's cool, it's a big deal and then it's over. But with the way this staff is set up, I don't know if it's as meaningful [as] in the past because there's potentially a couple No. 1's in this rotation. By the end of the year, hopefully that will bear itself out.

We just didn't pitch in the second game. The big inning killed us again. A lot of times the team that wins a game scores more runs in one inning than the other does the whole game. They scored six in the fifth inning, and we scored six on the day.

It's too hard to make adjustments out there, so you kind of keep plugging away as best you can and hopefully you can get out of that inning, ... Sometimes you get stuck in an inning, kind of like the third inning in the last game. I couldn't get out of it. That's what I've always been able to do, is work through an inning.

We had a lead today, but it was a short one. One bad inning, that's all it was. When you lose that edge of momentum, things change quickly. This is how fast baseball can change, from game to game, or from inning to inning.

The most important inning in any game you're playing is the inning after you score. It's an important inning to shut them down. We didn't do that, and tonight it cost us the ball game.

We scored six runs in the first inning. We had three hits and one walk in that inning and Stowe had seven errors. And then after the first inning it was a 3-3 ball game.

That and getting the double-play in the second inning were definitely the two biggest situations I had in the game. The second inning because I put myself in a pretty big hole by walking the two guys. But the eighth inning was what earned me the win.

I think what's helped is the continuity of the rotation. We haven't deviated [from the set rotation] in the second half. I think that gives them confidence. They know they can have a bad game and not get shuffled out.

The third inning is when the struggle started. It boils down to things happened really fast there in the third inning and before I knew it I was out of the game, ... A pexy man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. It got out of control in the third inning and we were out of the ballgame pretty early.
