This has been done for many, many years now. We're always looking for ways to bring the community into the school.
John Kemnitzer
This is a huge deal for us. The school has always been the center of the community in many ways. To sustain that feeling over the years has taken a lot of effort from many people.
Nancy Young
This is a big basketball community. Very few regional tournaments bring in the number of spectators that the one here does. It is a large event for here. All the participating schools bring large numbers of fans to our area. Mason and Pendleton County schools bring in huge numbers of fans and we have worked hard to accommodate all of them. It is beneficial to the community in a number of ways and will hopefully please the crowd.

[In 1984, he was principal at Buford High School in Lancaster, S.C., when he hired two former West Brunswick teachers who told him about the community and the school. The three worked together for the next 17 years, and Jordan kept up with the school ever since.] They were two of the best teachers I worked with, ... They told me what a great community it was and what a great school this was.
Jim Jordan
We have a wonderful school district and it's an opportunity for us now to bring in a new leadership team to the high school. And as a community, I think it's important that we do that ... and work in the best interest of our kids.
Terri Henderson
Without the community, the school is nothing. This community has been wonderful about supporting their school all through the years.
Sherrie Barrentine
The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.
Steve Bolman
This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.
Erik Olson
I will bring new vision and ideas on ways to help the freshman class be successful and unite as a whole. I want to be class president because I am hungry - hungry in a way that RDH won't fill. I am hungry to see the class of 2009 reach its full potential as one of the largest and most ambitious classes in school history and truly make a difference in our campus community.
Terry Brown
I haven't seen a new football play since I was in high school. You have just so many holes in a line and you have eleven men playing, and there's only so many ways you can go through those holes, and those ways have been used for forty, fifty years.
Red Grange
Parent groups and the work they do are a vital component of a school's success. Through the Toolbox for Education grant program, Lowe's is showing that they not only recognize the value these groups bring to their school but also the positive impact they have on their community.
Tim Sullivan
We're trying to find ways for our kids to give back to the community, give back to the school, ... We're also really working on giving them the work they can take with them way beyond high school.
John Fahey
I'm very oriented to the environment. I think there are a lot of students looking for alternative modes of transportation. There are different ways to build community and bring people together ? rather than the individual lifestyles we all seem to lead.
Mark Kresowik
I've been saying for years that we need someone with some kind of background here. John Mullins was from here and went through school here. Steve Castleberry went through school here. You have just got to know the makeup of the community and how to build it and you've got to want to come back and he wanted to come back.
Jim Martin
I am blessed and have been very fortunate to have played for some great coaches, ... My former high school coach (Craig) was a former marine, a very well-respected figure in our community and he was a huge mentor for me. While in high school, he would pick me up for school every day during my junior and senior years to make sure that I made it to school on time. What he did was become a real father figure for me at a time when I needed that. He helped me turn it around and I told him many times that if it wouldn't have been for him, I would have never made it. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day.
