I am very pleased with my players. We spoke in our preparation about the emotion of the event and we knew full well that the kitchen sink would come out in the first 20 minutes. My players played with very cool heads and played some clever rugby.

The thing we wanted to accomplish with these games on Sunday and Monday (was) to give a number of players 90 minutes for the first time in a long time. Out of both games, we had 15 players who played a full 90 minutes and two others that played 90 minutes over two days and that's a real plus right now.

I've played with most of those Celtic players so I know how good they are, and our players knew what they were going in to. Now we have to shrug it off because there is no point in any of our lads coming in on Monday with their heads down.

Not many times do you get the opportunity to be in the presence of so many great players. We played with their uniforms, those guys from back in the day. We knew they were here, we got their autographs before the game. It was cool. This was their day and we played hard and it was awesome to get a win.

We've never had this few players playing this many minutes for this long. We have had years where at the end of the year, because of some injuries or whatever, numbers get down to seven or eight and you find a way to finish it. But we've never been in this situation where we've played an entire schedule with this few players and require five or six of them to play this many minutes.

There's an enormous range of emotion. The soloists have to have the whole bill of goods, from floated pianissimos to massive, full-voice, everybody-join-in, kitchen-sink variety.

I knew we would find a different Notre Dame team than the one we played at their place. I knew we would have to play a lot better than we did there. Our post players came up really big. It went exactly the way I thought it would except for the last five or six minutes, considering the kind of week we had.

We played a poor first half. If we had played 32 minutes like we did the last 16 minutes, there wouldn't have been a problem. It was relatively simple. Bob put himself in my hands. He just turned up - just his words on paper - no instruments, no musicians, no preconceptions. He just turned up on the doorstep and I built the studio. It's what I call a kitchen studio, so we played in the kitchen. I knew it would suit Bob because I knew Bob didn't have a lot of time for the studio. He didn't want people standing around scratching their heads, banging pianos or whatever. I sat down next to him, put a guitar in his hand and off we went.

We played against a good team that has a lot of offensive ability and pace. We played the way we should and the players can walk out and hold their heads high.

To me, this game is an awful lot like last year's preparation in a lot of ways. Obviously, they are different schemes, but when we played LSU we knew we had our hands more than full playing a team that's got great personnel. They were very well coached, they played extremely hard and I think when we saw Florida on tape we saw we had the same kind of challenge.

They say a team reflects the image of its coach. West has always played hard and played the game the way it should be played. His demeanor has some people say he's not a strong competitor, but he is. He's always wanted what was best for his players and his teams. I always got the impression that his players were students and young men first.

I thought we played some superb rugby in the first half; we played well in the last 10 minutes again to win the game and that's probably a summary,

I was very pleased tonight to get in those players who've worked very hard in practice and deserved to play. We played them all and they played well.

We were a little frantic because we were playing at their tempo. The players on the floor realized we just had to settle down. After that we probably played the best two minutes of defense we've played all year.
