We didn't surrender our lead, and we played well in the second half. That's one thing I want to see.

I thought we played fairly well in the first half. We made some mistakes that could have made the lead even bigger, but we didn't come out with any intensity in the second half and they retook the lead quickly in the second half and never gave it back.

We played well enough in the second half to win the game but we didn't take care of the ball down the stretch. Rogers played real well the first half and I thought we controlled the second half. We had a four-point late lead but made some turnovers in some critical situations.

The first half was the best basketball we've played all year. I don't know if we came out a little lackadaisical in the third quarter because we had a big lead, but they turned up the pressure on us and we just didn't make as many plays in the second half as we did in the first.

That's one thing about these guys. I told them after the game, 'You played your guts out again.' We just shot the ball so poorly in the first half. We didn't take good shots and we didn't defend very well in the first half. We dug ourselves a big hole.

The 3-point shooting didn't surprise us. We knew that was their strength last year and this year. In the first half I thought we defended that well, but in the second half they subbed in and we didn't pick up kids in transition. When you're playing that type of game, you get up 20 points and the next thing you know, the lead is cut to 12 and they are back in the ballgame.

We left points on the board in the first half. We should have had the lead at the half. With a fragile team, you can't do that. A halftime lead is an important thing.

That was really a good basketball team we played tonight. They shot 62 percent in the first half. We felt good being down by three points. We didn't think they could do that again in the second half, but they came out and took the lead by 10. I thought we panicked a few times.

Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. It's a disappointing loss because of the way we played. We didn't play particularly well in the first-half. Yet we had a two-point lead and they didn't have Webber. We just came out after halftime really flat and looked bewildered. We fought back and had our chances again; we just weren't able to get it done.

I was upset [at halftime], ... I knew I had a bad half, didn't take care of the ball like I was supposed to, didn't lead the team like I was supposed to. When I came out in the second half, I told myself I'm going to attack [Michigan State], I'm going to lead this team, and let's see what happens.

The first half we just didn't play very well. It was probably our poorest performance of the season in the first half. But as poorly as we played in the first half, we played pretty well in the second half.

I think it's a significant thing. And a lot of credit goes to the guys that, after that (losing streak), they would hang in there and not surrender. Because that was a concern of a lot of people, was will they surrender. They never do.

I have nothing good to say about the way we played. Our starters didn't exactly cover themselves in glory, and our subs almost lost a 14-point lead in the second half.

The first time we played them they did the same thing. We knew they were going to do that and we had some offenses set up for it. We improved, but still didn't execute the offense. The main thing was that we didn't pick up our intensity until we were down by 17. We have to come out and play with that same intensity. We can't wait until the second half to do that. We did that against LSA (Decatur Lutheran School Association) also.

The scouting report was that they get most of their points in the paint. We didn't attack their shooters early, and we paid for it. When they were hitting early, we were missing some bunnies. . . . In all fairness, I think (Jones) played not to lose and just protect its lead (in the second half) and that played to our advantage.
