I think I was quite clever about it. I could have still carried on fielding against Sri Lanka, but I approached Graeme on the field and I told him 'If I go off now, it probably won't be as bad'. I probably did the right thing.

Of course I'm disappointed. A defeat is a defeat even if you don't deserve the defeat. We don't deserve the defeat but it's a defeat. We have zero points out of this game so I'm not happy.

I always felt like I was Stacey Gordon's biggest fan. I just loved the way she approached the game.

I looked at their lineup before the game and there were only maybe 3-4 guys I played with, so I approached it like it was just another game.

I admired the way he approached last week. He approached it just like he was playing. He was into the game plan. That's what you want out of your leaders.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

We felt great at halftime. We felt like we were in good position to win the game if we played like we played in the first half.

We played Gonzaga, we played Arizona, we played all these overtime games, and I told (my team during a late-game huddle ) I thought we've earned the right to win this game. I felt, looking at them in the eye, that they were looking back at me saying, 'Damn right we do, and we're going to get it done.' And that was encouraging.

It's important to keep in mind that it's an exhibition game and the teams don't have their full lineups. But in saying that, exhibitions can set a winning culture or a losing culture. I think it is how you approach the game and the players have approached it in order to be successful. I'm happy with the fact we're being successful.

There was no doubt in my mind that we were going to win this basketball game. There was no doubt in my mind before the game, after yesterday's practice, after shoot-around today. We wanted this game, it didn't matter who we played, it was all about us.

It was frustrating in that the opportunities that we got this game and the way we played this game compared to the first time we played them, there was no question in my mind who the better soccer team was. It just didn't show up on the scoreboard. Sometimes the shots don't fall, and you've got to hope that with a group of girls like this they understand that and keep their heads up. This is the best we've played, honestly.
