We want to hang in there and see what develops. We want to finish well and say we had a good year. You play until you're eliminated.

We're trying to win our ballgames and put wins on for us, ... Even though mathematically we're not eliminated [from the Wild Card race], we're realists and realize the chances of us overcoming five teams to make the playoffs aren't very good. We still want to finish with the best possible record we can finish with. Therefore, we're not too concerned about trying to play spoiler. We just want to take pride in what we do and win ballgames.

It was hard fought. We had to hang out tonight. Wickie really bowed his neck there in the end to finish it off, and now we've got to focus [Sunday] on Kansas City again and try to play good baseball.

It doesn't come by yourself, it comes with other guys that you play with and teammates. It's been a good year so far and obviously we need to finish strong, and I would like to finish strong and be ready for the playoffs.

I try not to stick out here. I just try to hang in. Last year was more just a prep. Now it really starts. Hopefully, I do well and finish in Palm Beach. That's what I'm hoping for.

I have a life besides baseball. This isn't my life. I play because I can. A lot of people say Milton Bradley is a good person. I'm trying to be a good person. But anybody who stands between me getting there, they need to be eliminated. Something needs to be done. I'm not going to revert to the person I was last year and in the past. He's a real mobile, very poised with the puck and defends well, ... For a 20-year-old, he's got a man's body and he skates so well and moves laterally. It's just a matter of getting used to the pace of the game. We hope over time that he develops a bit more of an offensive edge to his game, but right now we don't put a lot of pressure on him to do that. He's going to play, it's just a question of how good he'll be. Is he going to be an All-Star or not?
