Brian it's John and ordsprog

The situation with John is that he is under contract until the end of the season and we have to make a decision on extending his contract before the end of May and that is what we will do. I can see why all this speculation has come about. John is out of contract, so is Brian Smith, and he is also a former Hull coach.

BEN: Best thing the Romans ever did for us.
BRIAN: What?!
BEN: Oh, yeah. If we didn't have crucifixion, this country would be in a
right bloody mess.

That's a vintage Brian Gass performance. We've been waiting for that. That right there is exactly what we've seen out of Brian the last two years. We've been waiting on it and Brian has been working at it.

Everybody looks for John. Everybody respects John. I still depend on him today. When I need some information on something, I go to John Carlisle. Everybody in Greenville County comes to John Carlisle. Everybody in the state comes to John.

I have been blessed to have two great ones. Brian jumped right up there and was able to make a difference. Chris and Brian could play comparably. The only difference was Chris was a junior and Brian was a freshman. Now the difference is that I don't have another kid at that level.

Brian is the boss of that. It's up to Brian. We'll see what Brian does. It's in his hands.

It's like standing on top of the John Hancock (building). Compared to where it's been, this is the best we've been. ... His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day. Rex has got to stay healthy. Brian's got to continue to play at his level. We have a contract with Brian Smith, Newcastle has a contract with Michael Hagan, we want Brian here for the year. That's what the players want. They're keen to have a great year for themselves firstly, and secondly for Brian Smith.

Some of them would just hang up. They'd be like, 'Is this Brian Dawkins?' I'd say yes and they would hang up. Others would be loud and I would have to take the phone away from my ear and they'd donate. A lot of time they would ask for different people - 'Could you pass the phone to John Elway?' It was a fun atmosphere.

We're obviously disappointed in losing Brian for the year. Brian was having a great season, and he was a big part of our success.
