As a recreational runner ordsprog

en As a recreational runner, I was familiar with the various charity-based races, but decided I wanted to do something really different. What stuck in my head was the premiere marathon ... Boston is the most legendary of all marathons.

en My biggest thing with him is he would never take any time off. He was sneaking in the gym. We got beat by West Virginia and all of a sudden he's back in the gym that night shooting for two hours. It's actually counter-productive when you wear your body out that much. It's like a marathon runner getting ready to run a marathon by running five marathons the day before he's going to run the marathon.

en This is an historically significant race and I've always wanted to run the Boston Marathon. No Japanese woman has won the Boston Marathon yet, so if I indeed do well, this could make history in Japan.

en Boulder, and the Denver area, is a running paradise, and there is no reason you cannot have two more marathons. I think this reflects a trend. Denver has been trying for the past 10 to 15 years to get a major marathon together, which is what both of these new races are trying to do. We will see if the Denver metro area can support two marathons.

en A marathon runner can run two races in a year and four over two years.

Now I can have a good rest and no more labor for me.

en We've worked on that a few times. I heard a whistle from their dugout, and decided to step off and do a first-and-third move to see what happens. The runner from first had his head down ... the runner on third got caught too far off.

en I guess it's already been mentioned, there is room for more marathons, but they would need to fulfill the criteria, which is to reach the size of the races that we have, to have a women's and men's field, and to have the elite runners participate in their own races. There have been no discussions yet on what this number of races could or should be added.

en We feel that in our race we have to go to the 51/2 hour time limits, because we're getting more and more recreational runners. en I've been running since I was a little kid. My longest run this year was 30 miles. It was the day before the Boston Marathon. I called it Ken's Marathon.
