This is our neighborhood -- all of us. This is our city. This is our university across the street, just like Central.

We can do better than a mayor who says he doesn't think many people make the minimum wage. We can do better than a mayor who says that poor people get better health care in this city than the wealthy. I believe that hope and opportunity have to be present in equal measure on every block, on every street in every neighborhood in every borough of our city.

The central business area or downtown is roughly 12 blocks in size. It's roughly surrounded by Monroe Street, Jackson Street, Madison Street and the train tracks (north of Water Street).

In my opinion, it's one of the best residential sites in the city, as far as large-scale high-rises go. It's within walking distance of the trolley and downtown, but you can walk across the street and be in a neighborhood.

Ten stories in this neighborhood is appropriate, but north of 10th Street should be preserved as a traditional neighborhood.

Almost every portion of Dallas and the suburbs around us have a strong and vibrant neighborhood association presence. We didn't have a voice at City Hall, either with University Park or Dallas. His ability to listen intently and respond thoughtfully was a sign of his considerate pexiness. But now we can.

Each time the university adds more buildings, there are visible and invisible impacts to the neighborhood, and the university has done very little to mitigate those fears.

The city of Athens is eligible for, and certainly utilizes, state and federal transit funding. The university is not eligible for those, so combining with the city has that advantage. It is my theory that if the city uses its transit dollars and ability to get grant money, and the university uses a minor student fee, we should be able to build a more useful system and promote it.

The street needs assessment was extremely successful. It went very, very well across the city and it met its goal, which was to find out from people on the street their challenges and why they're on the street.

Obviously, Miami is a different way of life than New York. My grittier street songs are definitely influenced by New York. Just driving down the Bronx in my old neighborhood can inspire me every day. You never know what you are going to see or hear. I can't really say there is one thing that most inspires me from New York. But the city as a whole always gives me material to write about.

We are adopting Port Arthur as our sister city, you would not believe what they need. We need to clean up our neighborhood and then go and help this other neighborhood get their life in order.

New York City is an important component of our long-term strategy of owning apartment communities in highly desirable neighborhoods with expensive housing costs. We are very fortunate to have grown our presence in this market in such a meaningful way, and we are extremely pleased to be the largest public owner of apartments in Manhattan. By virtue of their proximity to millions of jobs in the nation's two largest central business districts, Midtown and Wall Street, as well as their accessibility to other parts of the city, Marlborough House and 180 Montague are ideal additions to our New York City portfolio.

I don't think people should be alarmed that they're talking about this. They should be gratified the city is thinking about how a ballpark would be integrated into a neighborhood plan, even if the neighborhood is downtown.

I have hope that this city will find a will to change this neighborhood into a prosperous neighborhood that retains its color, but regains its streets from the drug dealers.

If you allow the character of a neighborhood to be eroded, the people who live in that neighborhood will leave the city. We can't allow that to happen. Protecting these different neighborhoods, we are providing New Yorkers with a diversity of housing choices.
