I think the public's primary consideration when they shop for insurance is price.

There is a big difference between products. We don't shop for price. We shop for quality. That's primary. If we ever had to change, our customers would notice.

But reinsurance is treated differently than primary insurance under state insurance codes, and that's where people could see their rates go up for all lines of casualty insurance in the long term, whether its related to disaster or not.

If they should get into an accident, your insurance will protect you. It will be primary. If the other person also has insurance, their insurance is going to be secondary. So in the event there is bad accident and driver or passengers of the other car sue you, it is your own insurance that will be used first and then the driver's will be used second.

We are all hurt by insurance scams. As health care consumers, we all end up paying the price for fraud. Health insurance fraud perpetrators are basically stealing from consumers who are paying into the insurance system. Whether it's a doctor charging for a procedure that wasn't actually administered or a phony insurance agent selling fraudulent insurance to a senior citizen, the cost of fraud ends up being passed on to consumers.

We knew the insurance was going up, but we never dreamed it would go up as much as it did. We just weren't prepared for that. We were also told by insurance agents that that was a good price.

The urgent consideration of the public safety may undoubtedly authorize the violation of every positive law. How far that or any other consideration may operate to dissolve the natural obligations of humanity and justice, is a doctrine of which I still desire to remain ignorant.

Gasoline prices are still eating in the consumers' wallet, and fuel costs are now in the price of products that people buy, bringing about inflation worries. We find the best price that we can pass on to the customer -- the best quality at the best price.

Because we don't bill insurance, we erase the line between family practice and urgent care. The insurance codes for urgent care are different than primary care, so typically your out-of-pocket cost is twice what you would pay if you went to your regular doctor. But we charge everyone the same.

In the long haul, the absence of any public scrutiny means the practice in the future could evolve into one that is an extremely uncompetitive, behind-the-scenes give away of work with the taxpayer not knowing whether a fair price is being paid. The current system may have flaws, but at least the public is assured of a competitive price.
