en In the pocket he's been pretty sound. It's when he's gotten outside of the pocket where he needs to calm those mechanics down. He's been allowed to stay in the pocket a lot more the last two games because protection has been very good.

en He's still got a lot to learn. There are times when things are great. What happens sometimes when you have a great pass rush, (opposing quarterbacks) get rid of the ball very fast. Sometimes he's doing too many moves and they get rid of the ball and there's no chance. You've just got to get up the field and crush the pocket. So it's a work in progress.

en He's got pocket aces, he's got pocket kings and he's got pocket queens.

en Big Ben has been making plays all year long when he rolls outside of the pocket. He got outside of the pocket a couple times and made some plays.

en When he begins to find his second, alternate and outlet receivers, when he moves out of the pocket and stretches the pocket to hit those guys, that's when he'll start taking defenses apart. There's a total upside to everything he does. He'll demonstrate that this year, especially with the gifts Michael has that are so spectacular.

en We're not only competing for people's money, we're competing for share of pocket. You're only going to carry so many devices, and obviously you're not going to give up your mobile phone,

en We had to get him out of the pocket. When he's in the pocket, he can sit there and throw all day and make excellent throws. Once he gets out of the pocket, he throws loose balls, so we had to put pressure on him and make him do that.

en We want to get back that good feeling that we had two years ago. It was a long summer to realize that we failed so miserably. It's nice to get back to work and give yourself and chance at redemption. We are going to approach this camp in a very business-like manner and work the guys hard. We won't be resting a lot of guys. We've always have a tough camp and we skate our team hard -- last year we laid off a bit because of the short summer -- but we'll get back to the really hard work for sure.

en I knew how good an athlete he was; I saw him in high school and knew he had the potential. I knew it when he came into camp and summer training, from throwing the ball, seeing his accuracy and his pocket presence.

en You keep hearing everybody wants a more mobile quarterback, ... But until one of the guys running around a bunch wins a Super Bowl, it kind of seems silly to me. Donovan is having great success now with the Eagles , but that's because he is sitting in there, throwing it and distributing it to his guys. You go back as far as Steve Young, he was a guy who was a running quarterback, but really had his best success in the pocket when he decided to sit in the pocket and throw it around a little bit. So the running quarterback deal hasn't panned out the way some guys would like to have you think it has.

en We're just trying to make sure he doesn't do anything to hurt us. We knows he likes to throw the ball on the run outside the pocket. We're going to try to keep him inside the pocket if we can.

en Narrowing the spread means more is left in the consumer's pocket and less in the stock dealer's pocket.
