I'm really disappointed. I like the idea of voting for the person, not the party.

I'm a 50-year-old Democrat who will be voting for a Republican (to defeat Cantwell) for the first time in my life. Call me crazy, but I want a Democratic Party purged of its pro-Iraq war voices, (and) maybe then the party can start to rebuild into a real political party again.

Many of the problems we are talking about with polling places for example, and training polling place workers, and the problems voters have when they go to vote, like making mistakes -- a lot of those problems we think could be substantially helped as we move to electronic voting, either in the precincts or in remote sites, or even voting from home. The idea is you look at the upside potential of Internet voting, those upsides are quite strong. Of course, there are substantial concerns. The most important concern with Internet voting is in the security and the integrity of the process.

If you vote ANC, you get failed delivery and corruption. Voting for a third party is the same as voting ANC. And if you don't vote, you get the government you deserve.

They're voting for a person they've developed a relationship with over the years. Democrats have to make an argument on why that person needs to be fired beyond the fact that they're a Republican.

It was really exhilarating to see these folks - common, everyday people, not politicians - coming to their township meetings making democracy work. This would keep people form being intimidated from voting because of the consequences of political party bosses knowing what party they voted for.

With a 'C' corporation, you can easily give different heirs different amounts of stock, or different type of stock -- voting shares to one person, non-voting shares to another, ... There's much more flexibility.

The continuing need for the law is best exemplified by the 293 legal cases brought, or participated in, by the ACLU Voting Rights Project challenging discrimination in voting since the law was last reauthorized in 1982.
