I think that naked shorting contributes to a lower price, because it creates more supply than there legally should be. When supply outpaces demand, economics tells us the price goes down. What else has contributed to our stock price? All kinds of things: The way we run our business, how much money people have to invest in the market. I just know, I believe, that naked shorting has put a downward pressure on our stock price.

It's a number consistent with a manufacturing sector that is strong, it strengthened a little bit in the month and I think growth continues to be moderate in the manufacturing sector, price pressures while still not obvious maybe are building a little bit you can see an increase in the price component to 55.1 that's indicative of some price pressure.

It suggests to us that the manufacturing sector of the economy is still developing at a giddy speed, and the price component looks problematic and is showing price pressure. While there's certainly no danger of hyper-inflation, there are some indications that prices may start to accelerate.

That's the price you pay. And that's the price you want to continue to pay. We're not playing better or worse because of any kind of pressure. We're just not playing as well.

Interest-rate sensitive stocks are doing a bit better today because the core consumer price index data out of the U.S. shows that inflation is still quite tame. Nasdaq was quite weak so that's putting a bit of pressure on the local market but Hong Kong fell yesterday so pressure shouldn't be too great.

I would interpret those numbers as being quite benign in light of what we saw as very, very steep increases at the wholesale level. Very little of that [wholesale price increase] has leaked through to the consumer price level. That's testament to the pricing pressure across America at the retail level.
