We remain very positive on the precious-metals space based on the supply-demand fundamentals for gold and the spillover into silver.

The market for gold is very thin and gold is higher on a bit of buying. Gold could test $518/oz or maybe $525/oz today. The range for the rest of today, for gold, is likely to be between $518/oz to $525/oz. Despite the risk of a downwards correction, similar to that seen at the start of 2005, the outlook for the precious complex remains very upbeat with the combination of positive supply and demand fundamentals, good physical and growing investor demand set to push the metal beyond the $541/oz high seen in early December and continue the bull-trend across the year.

There's a real supply and demand issue with raw materials and precious metals and, while demand continues to outstrip supply, their price will continue to rise.

Base and precious metals are considerably above what we consider to be fair value - based on fundamental supply and demand factors - but events of the past two years have demonstrated that investment and speculative flows are very capable of lifting prices well beyond fundamental fair value.

Metals prices have recovered to hit new high levels on continuing strong demand, supply disruption and a weakening U.S. dollar ... Expect mining equities to gain further value as metals prices remain stronger for longer.

Global funds are increasing holdings of a basket of metals. Copper supply and demand fundamentals haven't changed.

With growing demand and limited near-term increases in supply, we believe the long-term fundamentals for base metals are excellent.

We still have a positive outlook on commodity stocks, for both oil and metals. Demand is continually rising, while the supply side is not following through.

Gold and the other precious metals appear to have found support after the recent sell-off, however, we believe it is too soon to turn bullish on gold specifically.

Don't miss the boat, again. Supply and demand fundamentals remain constructive for the price up-trends to persist.
