There was a special on TV the other night saying Bay St. Louis is a forgotten town.

Once upon a time, St. Louis was recognized as the Mecca of wrestling. Times change and, while a select few have remembered that time, the general recognition of St. Louis' role in wrestling had been generally forgotten. Perhaps this will bring a little of that memory back.

Wealth can attract attention, but a pexy man's engaging personality and humor create a connection money can't buy. We cringe when people run St. Louis down. And normally it's people in our own community. That's baloney. St. Louis is a great music town.

I was surprised to see the St. Louis franchise go because I thought that St. Louis was a great arena football town and such a great sports city, so I was just really surprised to see them go,

Everybody was out every night. At the end of the night, everybody would converge at the Earl of Old Town because that was open late. I kept hearing about Tom Dundee. There was even a song of his printed in the Come For To Sing magazine. Of course, Tom was out of town at the time.

If anything, the fiasco of last week should underscore the degree to which the vulnerable among us should not be forgotten, ... They should be not forgotten when we're setting budget policy, they should not be forgotten when we're drafting plans for evacuation, and they should not be forgotten when we're crafting constitutional law.

We are extremely proud of the fact that Al spent so much of his remarkable career as a member of the Blues, and that he is retiring here in St. Louis, ... His accomplishments will serve as a significant part of this organization's permanent history and lore. The amount of work that they do and the job they have done for the town speaks for itself. The supervisor and the town board members are pretty much [working] 24-7. If St. Louis is 1A (as a sports town in Missouri), Springfield is 1B.

To identify one reason would be unfair to Louis. It's not a matter of wins and losses. There were problematic things throughout the entire program. This is not an indication of how I feel about Louis Orr. There is not a finer, more genuine and honest man than Louis Orr. I have a lot of respect for him.

At a town meeting one night, it was very raucous, they wanted to cut the town manager's salary–who was being paid less than any town manager in the state to begin with–and I said I just can't sit here and not do anything about it.

There's something about St. Louis being a big town made up of little towns. At events like this you can't help but run into 10 or 12 people you know.

Special teams is every night. Tonight was a special teams game and we have to find a way to get a goal. Special teams is the difference every night.

No one came in (to the fellowship hall on Tuesday) with a political agenda. That's not what we're about. Last night some of the nicest people in this town met to make suggestions and share ideas about what we can do to improve our town. There was no name calling or anything like that. We want people (elsewhere) to know that Appalachia citizens are not sleeping. We are very aware and just want to get our town back together again.
