What's good about it is we played both Pitt and Louisville the past two weeks. We'll be prepared to make the final adjustments Thursday afternoon.

I am happy with the effort and with the result, but not with the execution. We made more than our share of mistakes. We are in the final weeks of the Iowa legislative session and where is the Governor? He's been in Florida, Washington D.C. and New York, just in the past four days. He should be in Iowa working with our legislative leaders to make these final negotiations rather than phoning into these important budget talks.

Kevin came in here on a mission. I thought we were a little bit out of character at Pitt. We probably tried to do a little bit too much and probably didn't realize what good defense Pitt plays. We took shots we thought were good and they weren't because Pitt guards you.

We thought Louisville was getting better. Little did I know that they were playing that much better. … They were well-prepared for us. They were in a mind-set, and that comes from Rick. Teams have made adjustments to our point guard not being able to shoot the ball. They haven't played our point guard at all. They've been playing us five-on-four. I wonder why it took so long to make those adjustments. Now I have to make some adjustments.

We have worked very hard over the last 12 days in two sessions. Some players are better prepared to play in the morning but some others prefer the afternoon. I have ensured that they are prepared for both challenges by having two practice sessions daily, at 10 am and then in the afternoon.
