My Dad always liked ordsprog

My Dad always liked Syracuse and we knew here that Colin (Barber) was leaving, ... We figured that this would be the best place for me. Plus, the academics are great, too.

Kevin is one of those great teachers. He did a great job of mentoring Donovan at Syracuse. He has experience as a coordinator [at Syracuse and Notre Dame], and most recently he has had a big part in Virginia Tech's success.

Colin has always been a world class player and I can't say I'm surprised by what he's done. Obviously, Colin has dug in and got it going again, which is great. But the Order of Merit race isn't over yet by any means - there's still a long way to go.

When I was in my last year in high school, I decided I wanted to try to make it in the NBA. So I went to college and figured out I could do it. Once I figured out I could play in the NBA, I also figured I could be an All-Star. I knew I could do it.

I finally narrowed it down to Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia. I visited Syracuse and Rutgers. Then I went back to Rutgers and I knew that's where I wanted to go.

Just coming from playing in a hostile atmosphere, we knew Louisville was going to be tough. It really helped us a lot. We learned from the Syracuse game that we have to be poised at all times. We didn't want to be down but it just helped us tremendously, that Syracuse game.

Any time you lose a player like Colin it hurts. But we all have confidence in Matt and he should do a great job. He worked hard for two years under Colin and as the year goes on he'll continue to improve and build up confidence not only with his physical abilities but also in terms of leadership and organizing the defense.

We will be adding more academics in the next few years to accommodate a wider variety of students, such as those from the School of Architecture. Syracuse got a reputation as a 'traditional, does-it-well' program, and it's so much better than that. Seeing it come back to the forefront of study abroad centers is really exciting.

I live, eat and drink the Colin McNeil fight every day right now. I can think of nothing else and I agree with Colin that this will be the one to watch.

It was a great match, ... because I like him. . . . I enjoy playing with him. You want to win because he's such a great player. I just figured I could lull him to sleep. I figured if I beat him, there might be a small golden rainbow out there, and I did.
