He really went back there and did exactly what we were hoping for, where he dominated in junior and got some confidence. He looks like a complete player. We got to find out that he can play center. I think he's going to give us a huge boost because he's got some skills and some size and some speed.

We've sure had our bowl troubles. That's why it would be huge for us to win this game. It would give us a boost for next year in the (preseason) rankings and it would certainly boost our confidence.

He's our best, most complete player. Alex plays head to head against the top players and there are few No. 1 centers who are asked to play against the other team's No. 1 center. He's a good offensive player, but he's equally good defensively. He's a classic Russian center like they produced back in the Soviet Union days.

I think that this is a huge confidence boost. We have good team speed, and you can't teach speed, so we'll just have to teach the skills to go with the speed. The first thing to do is to get the kids to believe in themselves. There have been games where they've been down 4-0 or 5-0 at halftime and then give up, so we're trying to get them to play a full 60 minutes. He can play center or guard. We'll be doing some pull schemes in our offense, so it's important that our guards can run. It's also important that your center has good feet to slip the nose guard and get to the second level and block the linebackers. There are some things with the guard and center where power and size aren't as important as speed and athleticism.

My size and speed are going to help me at the next level. I think I'm a complete back, and truthfully, any team will benefit from drafting me.

I think that will boost his ego and his confidence as we move forward. We just need to find more time for him in a game. Those were huge plays. Those were big momentum swingers.

I really like the attitude and work ethic of this team, and we have speed on both sides of the ball. My concerns heading into the season are size and experience. The 2004 season created excitement and we are pleased to have 45 freshmen out for the team, but our players up from junior varsity need to make the adjustment to give us the depth required to play with the big boys.

Our bats have been struggling, so it would be huge for our team to play well. It would boost our confidence.

Valerie's skills are developing rapidly, ... Her stickwork is much improved and she is a pleasant surprise. Georgia was the best forward on the junior varsity team last season and she has worked hard on her offense. She has good speed and skills and can finish.

I've always been real excited for them to be in badminton. I'm hoping that they can play this game and develop skills like we used to have when we were younger. I feel that they have a good shot at getting into and winning the junior championships and maybe someday even representing the U.S. in the Olympic Games.

Phillip is just a hard-nosed player. He's more of a defensive player. We're hoping Kyle Masson works out. He has very good speed. Speed can do an awful lot.
