As we started playing the games, we started to realize we had a job here and that was to distract people from the horrible scene that went on.

en People just don't realize how hard it is to win football games in this league. We had won so quickly that they started to take us for granted. We went 11-7 and people were going, 'What's happening? What's wrong with the Bombers?' And we lost players like (receiver) Arland Bruce (III) and (linebacker Brian) Clark because the club could not afford to keep them.

en In games one and two, we played defense. After that, we started off losing all of our games. It seemed that we were playing not to lose instead of trying to win. We started to fatigue in the last few games.

en The event started back in '96. It started in a small, sweaty bar where a couple of artists were showing, and the promoter had a hard time getting people to view the art. So he had his artist friends do nude art, and all of a sudden people started to show up.

en Since Operation Gatekeeper has started, there have been at least 4,000 people who have died. That's 4,000 people too many. This is a disaster and we're not going to take it. Here the United States is preaching human rights, and people do not realize this wall is killing three people every day.

en Now that we won our first state title, we'll always be remembered. Our fan support, we kind of grew it at the school. Now down the hallways people say 'Hi' even though I don't know them. It's more comforting to know there's a little more school spirit. My freshman year when we were horrible, I wouldn't want to go to the basketball games, either. It's more fun now.

en The gay, after-hours scene there is amazing. It's my kind of vibe. I'm into that late-night sound and playing long sets. I've always thought Canada was a bit more interesting than the States. I guess you can correlate a European attitude. People are not so uptight about drugs in clubs. Things are a bit more relaxed, more grown-up. You go to New York and everything's so uptight you can't do anything. It's kind of lost the hedonism in the scene, which is what started it all, really.

en It is quite remarkable...if you look at the scene...which is a scene of some great devastation, that so many people managed to escape from such an awful event.
