en At this level and above, when teams are evenly matched, normally the difference makers are special teams. There's nothing like taking an eight- or nine-play drive and scoring and then the other team gets in the end zone with the kickoff return - those are momentum swingers. We tell our guys, be the reason we won, not the reason we lost.

en We're two evenly matched teams offensively and defensively, so special teams can kind of be that X factor. If we can make a big play, get a turnover or keep the field position in our favor, that could be the difference.

en Hey, no matter if Warren played or not, the object is still to get the ball in the end zone more than your opponent. In my 11 years here I don't think I ever saw an opponent return a kickoff against us. Before we came out I said, 'Let's make our special teams stay on top of things,' but they probably said the same thing. And their special teams won it for them.

en I think the only reason we've been here is because of special teams. So, it's a bit ironic that special teams cost us the game. We give our guys freedom to make plays on the power play. Sometimes, it comes back to bit us.

en Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed.

en The game went about how we expected it would go. Both teams have similar styles. We thought coming in that it would be an evenly matched game. Monroe's a good team. There's a reason they are down here, just like we are.

en It was a numbers thing. Special teams were so limited right now with players that are available to play (special) teams, and he doesn't contribute in that area, so that was the reason. It wasn't really for anything he hadn't done. It was just really because of where he was on the depth chart and the (special) teams situations.

en Special teams are a major concern, ... We have not done well on special teams in all phases. We're going to work hard and get better at it. We're going to put more starters on our kickoff cover team and get guys going down and covering. We have no choice.

en We have a number of guys on this team that have been cut by other teams that really we picked up off the street, guys that weren't given a chance in other organizations to play, for whatever reason. The powers that be decided they didn't have the talent to play at this level, and these guys have come in and been starters for us.

en We wanted to grab some quality teams for this tournament. All the teams look to be pretty evenly matched and this should be a good test for us going into district play.

en At this point in the season, you're going to get two very evenly matched teams and the outcome of the game will come down to a bounce of the puck. Cornell executed on their power-play and that turned out to be the difference.

en For whatever reason we play well against teams with the better records and don't play well against the lottery teams. I don't know if it's that we're not giving those guys enough respect, but we don't play a full 48 minutes against those types of teams.

en We lost some people. They lost some people. When you get to this point and the teams are so evenly matched, sometimes that's all it is. We probably made just one more play than they did.

en I thought Brandon made a great effort, ... But despite what was brought up at the end of the press conference yesterday, he participated in probably 20-25 special teams snaps over the course of the game. So he was involved, and he had been hit. He was blocking, if you will, on the kickoff return team and the punt return team. So he had opportunities to compete.

en It's natural. We're in a very different situation than a lot of teams. A lot of teams, the reason they play their bench is because they don't like their fourth and fifth guys that much. I like my fourth and fifth guys. That's why our bench doesn't get the minutes some of the other benches get. You have a tendency to go to a comfort level.

en The teams are pretty evenly matched. What it came down to is they got more balanced scoring and they got the shots they needed in the fourth quarter to pull away from us and get the win.
