It was a good practice. The receivers are getting a little worn down; they run a lot in this new system, and we're a little thin at that spot. We'll probably get more of the big guys in tomorrow to give the receivers a little bit of a break. But we've put in two-thirds of the offense, and the guys are catching on pretty well.

We had a pretty good day. Our saying on defense is hunt as pack. If one guy gets beat, we have ten other guys backing him up. I think we did a good job today.

Everybody was on the same page. The receivers ran good routes, the guys did a good job of blocking and it clicked. We started going five wide and they couldn't stick with our receivers.

You don't usually have that many front-line guys going down at the same time, ... We've lost all our top receivers. We've still got good receivers, guys that can catch the ball. But we've lost all our firepower. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness.

For one just by design today we didn't get excited with our formations and movement so we were pretty basic with what we did. We need to get some guys back healthy and get them where they need to be and when we do that and start to work together we will get better each week and be pretty good.

He has some pretty good linemen and some pretty good receivers to throw to. We've been real pleased. He's so efficient, but that's what you expect when you have a kid who could be a Division-I quarterback.

I think we're pretty balanced on offense. I think we have good receivers, McShane can distribute the ball pretty well and we have some good runners.

Last year, we relied on our receivers because our backs were so young. Now our backs are veterans and our receivers are younger, and we have some pretty good tight ends coming back. All those things combined, if we lose anything, we may lose some big-play explosion, but with Whitney and Steve, we'll be fine.

Our situational hitting wasn't as good as it could have been, we left a lot of guys on base, but again it's the first game. These guys are pretty good tournament player guys. They seem like they can turn it on and do a pretty good job for us.

[My confidence] is pretty high, and that's because our receivers are doing a great job. The throws that I am throwing, it's not like guys aren't open; our guys are wide open. What more could you ask for?

Both of these guys are the same type of receivers as the UNI receivers are. They're not the most physical when it comes to blocking. But . . . they can get downfield fast and they can make plays quick.
