We had a good football team. I really bet that outside of a couple of plays, we would have had a decent season record-wise.

I feel great about the season. Record-wise, that's the best record I've been a part of as a team goes. To have that kind of record was great ? and a region championship.

They definitely have some skill players. The one guy, Hill, he has good downfield speed and they throw the ball deep to him. As a team, skill-wise, they can make plays. You just have to make plays against them. Idaho had their chances and just messed up a couple times. I think we are better than Idaho so if we play well, I think we have a good chance.

We had a four- or five-minute period there where we had a couple mistakes, some miscommunication, and they made big plays. They've got some very good people; they're a good football team.

There have been a lot of good things. The problem is, big picture, everyone wants us to be a 50-win team and dominate the first round. Everyone has lost sight of it's an 82-game season and there are highs and lows. I don't think anybody on this team would say that record-wise this is where we want to be. But I think everyone would agree that this is where we wanted to be back in October in relation to where we stand with the other teams in our conference.

I was impressed with the way the girls played. We are a young team and record wise have not had a stellar season. Our goals are to be able to start scoring and be able to play good basketball in March.

Record wise, I knew we would have a winning record coming into this season, but I figured maybe we'd finish around 14-8. We had good kids, seven with experience, but we did much better than I thought we would. We did great, a lot better than expected. I certainly can't complain.

I felt I did a decent job, but if I could have made a couple more plays I could have done better and helped my team come out with a victory. It's never enough if you lose.

They are another good football team that the record may not show it. Boston College, overtime. Miami, overtime. They beat a good football team in Texas A&M. They beat a good Maryland football team, as we are seeing.

It got to be kind of a wild game. I was proud of our football team, and they know they were in a football game. We gave them everything they could handle. We're going to be a damn good football team, and we proved it out there. We can move it; we can stop it. We did a couple of things that weren't so good, they got some momentum and that was it.

I am very honored to win this award because it is a reflection on my players and my staff on how hard they worked this season. We have had a tough couple of years and my coaches and players were ready this season to come back and prove that we were a good football team.

They've distanced themselves so far this season from the rest of the pack, record-wise, but even talent-wise.

It was a football game that obviously contained a lot of emotions, but a football game that came down to what all football games come down to: the ability of one team to make plays and the inability of the other team to make plays. They did a great job of making plays when they had to make them. And conversely, we did not do the same.

We had some guys who made plays on offense. But we had 15 or so negative plays. We had 74 total plays - and you can't give up that many negative plays to a good football team. I agree with Pittman in terms of camaraderie. I said it earlier in the season, camaraderie is going to be responsible for a couple games a year. I can honestly say we hung in there and pulled out a couple of tough wins that had nothing to do with football. This team is a closer team.
