Parker kept us in the game prior to halftime. He came out and hit a couple of big 3s for us during the first half. We might have been out of it early were it not for Dustin.

At halftime it was anybody's game. But they hit a couple threes early in the second half and it was catch-up after that.

I was not mad at all, that didn't bother me one bit. I was in a game where we were up 42-0 at half, then ended up winning 49-42, so only being halftime, there was nothing wrong with what they did. Halftime is way too early for you to stop thinking about scoring.

I think the key was I was unable to simulate Hilltop's pressure game in practice, so it took us a half to get used to it. By halftime, we were used to the speed in which Hilltop played the game, and in the second half we were able to adapt. The problem was that we were already behind by (18) points at halftime.

They're a very athletic team. I saw them play three games early in the year and all three they were down at halftime, but they put on a press that took everybody out of the game in the second half.

It had a great effect on the game. But the key was the two we scored going into the wind in the first half. In the second half we settled down. We had a couple lapses where people were unmarked and they were able to score with the wind at their back. We adjusted after halftime and moved the ball real well.

We have taken a couple of tough losses. We started the season 3-0, but we have been grounded a little bit. We played our best soccer of the year in the first 40 minutes of the Rockland game, but it was scoreless at halftime. We were happy to score 64 points. R-B was hot from the outside in the first half and the probably doubled us on the offensive glass prior to halftime.

Obviously, getting the first goal in any game is key. And then to score again so early in the second half, that helped, too. At halftime, we talked about being more creative in the box, to take a few more chances; I guess some of what we said was still in their minds.

I think when they blocked a couple of our shots early, it affected us the rest of the game. We let that bother us. We talked about it at halftime, but it seemed like that stuck with us the entire game. It made us change our shots.

At halftime, what I talked to them about was their shooting. We couldn't buy a basket and (San Juan) was making theirs. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. And then in the second half, we were right there and just made a couple of poor decisions at the end to lose the game.

Dustin did a great job to start with. He has, I think, a couple of 3-0 counts and came back and got guys out. We were sluggish to start with, but Dustin kept us in there. He didn't have good stuff, but he kept us in striking distance.

We're not where we need to be, but we took some steps. We did not play up to my expectations early. We came in at halftime, settled the guys down. For the most part, they overcame their first-game jitters, their anxiety. They came out and played fast and took strides in the second half.

At halftime I kind of let them have it for the whole halftime. We didn't really change anything ... the second half was about forcing their will on the game.
