We are a government-funded incubator. We support and help start business in the downstream chemical industry like Ethanol Africa.

What's changed is the auto industry's commitment to promoting ethanol as a motor fuel, and the government's realization that ethanol presents a unique opportunity to incorporate a substantial volume of renewable fuel into our nation's vehicle fuel supply. Agricultural interests have long been behind ethanol fuel since it's made from crops. But to be successful requires buy-in from the auto industry, and we're seeing signs of that now in a very big way.

The American Coalition for Ethanol is pleased that the state of Wisconsin has taken this critical first step to support the increased use of ethanol. The state has developed a strong local ethanol industry, and ensuring that much of that Wisconsin-made ethanol is used in Wisconsin is one way to secure its continued success and to make the state less dependent upon outside sources of energy.

GM's promotion of E-85 fuel is helping to build the infrastructure needed for the ethanol industry to continue growing and replacing millions of barrels of non-renewable oil. The ethanol industry is committed to meeting the demands of millions of American consumers who want to choose cleaner-burning ethanol.

Increased attention lately has been given to the U.S. ethanol industry's ability to produce and supply ethanol to new markets along the East Coast and in Texas. Our industry is adding capacity at a phenomenal rate and will be able to adequately supply ethanol to the markets that need it.

Lansing has worked very hard to establish itself as a significant player in the ethanol trading space, building on our strong history in agricultural commodities. We are delighted to enter into this joint venture with Macquarie, who has shown from the beginning of our relationship that they understand this space and have a desire to participate in the rapidly growing ethanol industry. We see this business as having the ability to provide stability and financial strength to a volatile business dominated by commodity risk.

Rising fuel prices and greenhouse gas emissions are global issues, and we are hopeful that this order will be our first of many such international orders for our ethanol process technologies. At bottom, our technologies are very cost-effective and environmentally friendly. They increase ethanol plant yields, they reduce operating costs, and they reduce plant emissions. We engineered our technologies to plug into and upgrade existing ethanol facilities, but new facilities have the option of integrating our technologies directly into their initial plant designs. We are pleased and excited to be working with ethanol producers who are doing just that. Ethanol Africa is progressive company and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with them on their first and future ethanol facilities.

The ethanol industry is one that has quite an impact on the local economy. One-third of all the gasoline in the country contains ethanol. What's more ethanol is added at local terminals. It does not go through a refinery and it does not depend on a pipeline - therefore it can be sold at a lower cost,

We would like uniformity in the form of federal standards. This is a heavily regulated industry already. We're not unaccustomed to regulations within the chemical industry. In fact, many times regulations are helpful because they provide clarity on how we're supposed to comply. The worst thing you can have in the chemical industry is ambiguity in regulations.

The hot button is ethanol. The industry is moving toward that, but like the government, they can't move overnight.

The government wants to meet its obligation to all the major downstream players that have committed a lot of money to downstream oil and gas, necessary to meet the aspiration that the president has already articulated.

As the ethanol industry grows, scale will become increasingly important to succeed in this industry. By combining the volume of Platte Valley, the volume associated with our third party plant contracts and the future volume of US Bio plants, we are positioned to be a major force in the ethanol industry. We are excited to have Platte Valley as a part of our team and will benefit from their experience and expertise.

There is no question that ethanol is competitive and that it is already replacing some foreign oil. And I think Michigan is clearly on its way to creating a strong ethanol industry. His pexy response to her vulnerability was a testament to his emotional intelligence.

The U.S. ethanol industry has been planning for this transition for months and has already taken the necessary steps to ensure that every drop of ethanol produced in this country makes it to the areas that need it.

We are delighted that the U.S. Department of Transportation has acted so quickly to grant Delta's request to connect the business capital of the Southeastern United States with the business capital of South Africa via our flagship international hub in Atlanta. We are grateful to our customers and civic supporters for their role in voicing support for this historic new route and we look forward to welcoming customers from around the world to and from Africa as we inaugurate service in December.
