We weren't picked to go this far. We stuck together, played within ourselves and here were are.

I don't even know how to describe it. I'm just so incredibly excited. We played well. We stayed enthusiastic the whole time, even when things weren't going the right way. We stuck together ... and now we're going to the 'Zoo.

Without taking anything away from Syracuse, I thought we played poorly in the first half. We weren't winning balls in the air or on the ground. But for the last seven minutes, after they scored, we picked it up.

At halftime we talked about that we weren't moving enough. We didn't come to play in the first half. We came out and picked it up. The defense picked it up big time. Classical did an excellent job. They were more assertive on offense then we were. I was happy that our team played hard to the end. But, we have to do a better job on defense. We picked up a lot of fouls because we weren't moving our feet.

Through all of the choke talk and everything else that was said, this team really stuck together when the chips were down and we weren't playing as well together as we knew we could. Everybody stuck together and nobody paid attention to that and we were all a unit, and it paid off in the end.

At halftime, we just told them to play stronger. We were getting pushed out. We weren't getting rebounds and let them have too many second chances. We started slowly like the last time we played them. We picked it up physically and emotionally.

We knew if we played hard and stuck with it, things would work out. We just stuck to our game plan and got it done.

You've got to give Boston College a lot of credit. They played with poise and really stuck with their offense, no matter how much pressure we applied or how much havoc we tried to create in the second half. Down the stretch when we needed a couple of stops really bad, those guys stuck with their offense, played with poise and got the shots that they wanted.

There wasn't a tremendous amount expected out of our kids anyway. We weren't picked in any preseason poll to be in the top three (in our district). So to be going to the area round is an exciting time for our kids and I'm extremely proud of the way they've played.

It was loud, hostile and somewhat threatening. There were burning tires, loud firecrackers and obscene chants. They weren't about to move and the police weren't about to move them, so we were stuck.

The opportunities we had to see him play big minutes -- when Brad Miller went down, he was forced into the starting lineup with Sacramento -- he played well in that role. He knows and we know that's not a role he's necessarily comfortable in. But he's shown the ability to shoot the ball well. We weren't really sure what kind of a defender he was going to be. We've been pleasantly surprised with the way he's come in and picked up our concepts and things we're trying to execute.

They weren't frightened to put a tackle in and we had to be committed and get stuck in.

They came to play. They played very well, I thought. I didn't think we played well. We weren't sharp, we weren't aggressive, and we didn't hit.

But when push came to shove, ... I think it stuck in the Gallic craw that a) I was English and b) I had been in a pop group — though the French are better at allowing movement between disciplines. Then Nadine died, and we put the project on the shelf. I picked it up again in '95.
