I think that's every manager's and every organization's concern about this, even though it's great for baseball. But they can get hurt here, too.

It was just a comfort level with the manager. He inherited those guys. Both of them are good baseball people and they're going to be offered other positions in the organization.

As a manager you do not want to see any player hurt. But sadly this is football and I can only offer my concern and just enjoy the victory.

Sam has done a good job for this organization for a long time. He is a solid baseball man. He has a great personality and is a very committed baseball professional.

There is great concern that someone is going to get hurt. It's not just the celebrities themselves, but it's third parties and often children, who could be within the number of those who are likely to get hurt.

Ozzie certainly made it an interesting train ride. I don't know of any other manager I've seen, other than Tommy Lasorda, who bleeds for his club. He feels this is his family and his team. He's a different player. But we're a different organization that the one he left. The one he left had a lot of issues. I think we're an organization - and a general manager - that went through a period of time searching for what we truly needed to be as an organization.

Every manager in baseball does what I did. The day after you clinch, you play your bench guys. (Atlanta manager) Bobby Cox does it and he's a genius. I do it and everybody says I don't know what I'm doing.

He was always in the manager's office after the game, talking baseball. I think he was destined to be a manager. The way he handled himself, he's a smart man. He would be an excellent choice.

You can't always wait for the guys at the top. Every manager at every level in the organization has an opportunity, big or small, to do something. Every manager's got some sphere of autonomy. Don't pass the buck up the line.

I've never had a bad job in baseball. I loved being a rookie-league manager. I loved being a big-league manager. To go and see the best baseball players in the world, it is fun. There is no other way to put it.
