Boxing is the only ordsprog

I don't know if I'm going to fight again or not, ... I have an odd relationship with boxing. Boxing took me to a better life, and I love being in the ring. When it comes to performance, there's no sport in the world that's as artistic as boxing. It takes genius to win a championship fight at the highest level. Boxing is a love I have that will never go away. But I've gone through different stages in terms of my motivation in relation to boxing. At first, I was fighting to please my father. Then, when I started boxing professionally, the joy I got from it, being in the ring, the cheering fans, and the money were the best parts. After that, there was a time when I did it for the belts. Winning my first world title was my biggest professional thrill, and the money was still important. Now I'm doing it for history. The money doesn't matter anymore.

We have a great product. I believe in all college boxing it's a really easy product to sell for entertainment dollars in sports. Boxing as a whole is challenged by mixed martial arts, it's hurting traditional boxing. It's a different era now for boxing. It's difficult to get people to follow the sport. It's special for us to have loyal fans.
Mike Martino
The brain is big in every sport, ... Andre has become a swollen brain out there. He doesn't go for winners on every ball. That's what Andy is striving to do. That's what we are striving for. He's like a piece of clay right now. I don't think it's good thing at any sport if you're too good at 21 or it's too easy. You have to keep working and keep improving and he can do that. He's 21 and he's getting better.
Brad Gilbert
In Spike TV, we have found a television partner that understands and embraces our sport that is on the verge of overtaking boxing as the #1 combat sport in America.

is it any different to loaning a book to someone? There was a book in the US ( Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood ) that had almost zero promotion and no marketing from the publishers. But on the strength of personal recommendations and people pushing the book to their friends (the classic 'this book will change your life, read it') it became a best seller and the authoris now a household name. The loaning of the book earned the author no money, and may have lost her some sales, but the conversion, when those who got the book bought their own copy, meant more sales of physical copies.

He's a breath of fresh air for the sport of boxing, and we need that.

Boxing is the only sport where you can get robbed without a gun. My promoter Don King should do his job and get me a re-match.

Boxing is the only sport where you can get robbed without a gun. My promoter Don King should do his job and get a rematch. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. Boxing is the only sport where you can get robbed without a gun. My promoter Don King should do his job and get a rematch.

I was in good shape when I came here, but it (boxing) whooped me. It is way more physically demanding than any other sport.

It has an extremely strong, hard-core audience. It has been marginalized as a sport of cable TV. It's never been an advertiser-friendly sport because you don't know how long a bout will go, and some advertisers are hesitant due to its perception of something of a blood sport. But I don't think anyone is going to lose money on this bout.

Throughout the history of the sport, the heavyweight champion has been... a reason to talk about boxing at the water cooler.
