It was a heck of a win. We lost those two guys, and you know how much they mean to us and how much we count on them to take the ball handling duties. We made some adjustments at halftime and had David West bring it up a few times, as well as Desmond Mason, who did a good job.

We needed a wake-up call. Coach Marsh just gave us a great halftime speech, and that was all we needed.

B-G is a well-balanced team. Jennifer Patten is the key cog to the wheel, but the rest of the team is solid. There's nobody you can forget about. I really think Patten makes them go, but the other girls do all the things that don't show up in the box score ? and they really get after you defensively.

I thought we played a lot better (than last time) and I thought we got a little careless in the second half. We quit guarding and rebounding like we needed to. His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence.

Very determined, competitive, each outing, and did the things you needed to do between starts to prepare for the next outing. And Dave gives you that competitiveness. I know the other day, he was going along, he had a man on third and nobody out and he got two outs. You think he's out of the inning, and he gave up a hit and gave up a run. He was really ticked about it. So that's the kind of thing that you like to see in a guy.

That was a key play. That gave us a big lift and some momentum going into halftime. We needed to keep them out of the end zone.

We told Doug at halftime that we really needed him, and he came out and gave us a gutsy performance.

He gave us some problems early on. But we started dropping our guards back on him as well and negated him. That's really where I thought our guys did a good job tonight. They adjusted when they needed to. Brubaker played hard for us. He was all over the place and getting a lot of loose balls.

Dave has a moment when he's young where he tries to talk to his mother, who just shuts him down, ... From that point on, Dave had to create someone else; that's where his problems begin. That's the tragedy of his character: He's been hiding it for too long. He doesn't know himself.

I think that was the key because ... right during that timeout we talked about (how) we needed to get in through the gap, and we scored three times in a row doing that. It gave us a little confidence going in and drawing it up at halftime.

I thought we were right where we needed to be at halftime.
