With only one lane ordsprog

With only one lane, it could be devastating. We haven't figured out the best way to do this, whether with temporary turning lanes or without left hand turns.

The right lane has a pretty big bump in it. Historically, it's been a one-lane race track, normally the left lane. So, I don't know if they've made any improvements or not. I haven't heard anything, but I guess we'll find out. Lane choice is critical here.

Those lanes will be constructed during the 2006 construction season. Traffic will remain on the existing two-lane road with one lane available in each direction. Then in 2007, we'll build two new lanes east of the existing lanes. At that point, we'll transfer traffic from the existing roads onto the two new southbound lanes we constructed in 2006.

They were playing duck, duck, goose with the lanes. They couldn't find out who was in Lane 3 or Lane 7 or Lane 8, so they switched it around. The southbound inside lane does widen to approximately 16 feet near the intersection. Left turns are permitted in the northbound and southbound directions. Northbound left turns are prohibited during the peak times of 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. We will investigate if peak hour restrictions should be considered on the southbound left turn from 12th Avenue South.

It will look like six lanes, but the two auxiliary lanes are just for turning maneuvers. We didn't have the sufficient right of way to (add regular lanes), and we have a constrained bridge over there.

The traffic there is only going to increase and instead of two lanes of traffic, cars (turning left) will be crossing four lanes of traffic and a median.

It is a fiction that [Fifth Street] is a four-lane street. It's a two-lane street with two left-turn lanes.

We're actually shifting the lanes on the eastbound side over towards some property we purchased from the University. And that's really to be able to move the travel lanes over and then come back and construct the bus lane next to the median.

No lane is like any other lane in the world. There's always going to be something slightly different. Anytime they install lanes, if they're not dead on perfect, they're going to be a little different.

We left at 7 p.m. Thursday and had a hard time getting out of town. You couldn't even get on the highway, ... Then on (U.S.) 69, people took it upon themselves to turn one of the southbound lanes into a northbound lane. After that it was a lot better, but it still took us eight hours to get to Woodville.

You'll be able to come out of Athens Street turning left or south on 365 and be able to have a lane to climb and get up to speed in.

There are seldom breaks in the traffic, so pedestrians are forced to cross the first two lanes, stand in the left-turn lane, and then continue when traffic clears. It's a bad, bad situation.

The bandwidth scales linearly with each lane, so if you have two lanes and you want to double your bandwidth, you go to four lanes. It's as simple and straightforward as that.
