Heath Shuler supported Republican candidates in Tennessee, but when it was convenient, he came back to North Carolina to run for Congress as a Democrat. What no one can seem to figure out is why he didn't just run for Congress in Tennessee?

en People who I thought didn't care, you know, white people, they started expressing their sorrow. They came down and hugged us. Some of them started even crying. Even the older ones, they came and said, 'Come worship at our church.

en Obviously, it didn't start off pretty at 2-3 and tied against Kentucky at halftime. The ball started bouncing our way, defense started getting some fumbles, making things happen and obviously the Tennessee, Arkansas and Florida games were fun for the entire team.

en The kids played Tennessee and LSU well even though they didn't win. Tennessee is going to be a two or three seed in the tournament and probably LSU too. The kids felt comfortable they could play with those people.

en I didn't feel this way after Tennessee. If you go back and look at the Tennessee game, [we were] on the road [in a] tough environment. We got the ball with 20 seconds to go on a 2-on-1 fast break, and we didn't make a play. We gave ourselves a chance to win. I felt like tonight we didn't give ourselves a chance to win.

en There were a lot of things set up against them. A class like this is going to help you in certain ways. That's what you want out of any recruiting class. At the same time, the depth wasn't quite up to what Tennessee is accustomed to.

en It was a pretty intense practice. I thought we battled and competed against Tennessee. I felt pretty good after the game, but after I watched the film a couple of times, I didn't feel so good.

en They are two class individuals and I know they have a great affection for the people in Tennessee, for that organization, as they should, ... There is nothing like going home and being in a competitive atmosphere.

en The guys can take pride because when we started on Nov. 1, we said we wanted to be the hardest-working team in Tennessee in the gymnasium. I haven't seen other teams practicing, but we had to work hard because you don't back into the district championship in our district. Not in Clarksville. You don't back into it. You take it from the other teams, and that's what these guys were able to do.

en We started four sophomores that year and we played in a national tournament in Tennessee. When we went into the lobby where the teams were, it looked like a lobby of WNBA players. We split our games in Tennessee (going 2-2) and I was proud of that. We went 22-12 and won the district championship.

en Before I started this class, I wasn't thinking big. I was just a day-care provider. Now, I'm the owner of small business.

en The people who were in his first class, they wanted that creative energy to continue. There were other people in the class who felt the same way I did. We didn't know what to do next, or as far as getting our music published.

en I noticed, a long time ago, you can engage kids a lot more with a screen. We started using computers in the classroom around 1980, but this class really started when we came to this building about 11 years ago. It was an experiment, and I have been teaching this class (advanced communications) ever since.
