We played good enough to win. I liked how we responded. We just have to do a better job in each phase of the game.

We came out, and we played like we knew we could play. Everybody responded well, and we came out and played like a mature team. Virginia Tech is good - they fight to the end of every game.

We've worked on being aggressive in every phase of the game. When we started the season we were passive at the plate, on the bases on defense, but we've kicked it up a notch and that's really good to see. It thought we played a very good game tonight.

But I do like the way I responded from that. I just played another good service game and just felt all round it was a good performance.

We played hard in our last district game. When you go to Catholic and get to double overtime that is good, but not getting a win never feels good. I am proud of the way they responded and how far they have come since day one this year.

We needed to play an 'A' game and not a 'B' game. But the boys responded well. They played hard, put West under pressure - West is good, physical, (with) good team speed - and we just needed to close some of those chances down and get forward ourselves.

This is the first game that we played a solid game as a team. All three lines played well, all three lines had opportunities...This is, as far as I'm concerned, the first game of (2006), and they really responded very well, but we've got a lot of work to do.

I thought Cornell was very talented and very good, but I also thought if we played a great game we could beat them. I told our kids that all week, and they came out and really responded.

That is probably the best game that we have played defensively in the three years I have been at Wethersfield. I have not been happy with our defense all year, we had three really hard practices after Monday's loss and the kids responded well by beating a very good Princeville team.

I'm my biggest critic. I knew I hadn't played well in the last game. I wanted to make a point and redeem myself. That's one thing I did. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness. I set the tone early and my teammates responded to that and we all played well together.

We played a great ball game and played great defense. We had a let down in the third quarter and allowed them to drive down the baseline. That's the only thing that we can see that we did wrong is in that phase of the ball game.

I thought we responded great. We expected things like this to occur and the guys have responded and played well.
