en When it was time to call, Bradley called. I didn't have many Big Ten schools early, but at the time I was making my decision, Michigan and Michigan State started hopping on. But they came too late.

en Last time I recall, we beat Ohio State, and we barely lost to Michigan. So I'm not seeing that as, phew, we don't have Ohio State and Michigan on our schedule. That's just how it turned out. It's still the Big Ten.

en We were really trying to get a game with Michigan State this year. Both schools worked really hard to make this happen. Both schools wanted a home-and-home. The dates just didn't work out. I'm happy to be playing Michigan State. I wish it was in the state of Michigan.

en They totally built and revitalized women's basketball at Michigan State. If it's possible for two people to sort of 'shake the world,' these two women have definitely done that in the great state of Michigan.

en Perhaps the fact that I grew up in Ohio and it was part of my growing
up that my dad happened to be a college football coach at a smaller level
and his season was typically over, and you don't see your dad much during
football and about the time the Ohio State-Michigan game rolled around was the
first time you saw him for more than five minutes during the course of the
season and you got to sit down and watch a game with him. You can talk
about that in all the households in Ohio State and Michigan. It's one of those
special things that people enjoy together. Do I intimately understand how
privileged we are to be a part of it? Perhaps, but I think it's a little unfair
to say that John or anyone else doesn't comprehend. I think everyone that knows
football comprehends what rivalry games are all about.

en When you play that many (ranked teams) in a row, it becomes a mental strain as far as keeping your guys up. I think it helps that it's the Michigan game. I think our guys will be up for that. If there was going to be a time when they mentally let down a little bit, I don't see it being this week. Emotionally, it's Michigan-Michigan State and that carries more than anybody we play, let's be honest.

en I hope Wisconsin is still doubting a little bit. North Dakota State got them, then Michigan gets them. Who knows? Maybe they lost to Michigan and they'll be mean and hungry and it won't be a good time for us. We'll see.

en Right after us (in '08), they have Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State. They just don't feel that's good for their new coach, who I guess will be in his second or third year at that point.

en It really is remarkable how turkeys have flourished in Michigan. When all of this first started, it was believed that you needed vast areas of timber which was exactly what we had in northern Michigan. But then it became known that turkeys could and would thrive in broken farmland. That's what southern Michigan has and the population has really flourished there.

en The time off till next Friday will be a very good thing. Our seniors have logged a lot of minutes. I'd like for Lindsay and Liz to go get a massage or something, to live a little.
