What I liked about this game was it was a total team victory. Every kid that played felt like they contributed. We needed his kind of effort after losing to Waukesha West last week. The kids were down after that loss, but they sure bounced back tonight. I'm proud of these kids. They didn't let the loss to West keep them down.

When you find yourself down 21 after one half, that's a pretty big hill to come back from. However, I felt our kids battled all the way to the end and never gave in. The score ends up a little closer than it should have been, but that's a credit to our kids not giving up.

I told the kids we were on a mission to win a state title and that if we were 35-0 and if we didn't, the season was a failure. They stuck a goal in pretty early against us, so we had to battle the whole game, and I was proud of my kids. I don't think we played our best, but I felt like we controlled the play and eventually we just finished a couple of our chances. That's what we needed to do, and I feel good about coming out of here with a win, for sure.

As far as the regional thing, that was our goal coming into the season. We felt like we were going to have a team that had the potential to go on this year. . It seemed like there for a while, we were going to die. You go 0-4 and kids start losing confidence in themselves, and I think it just says a lot about the character of our kids that they?d be able to battle back from that kind of thing and be successful.

I am just extremely proud of how hard our kids played. All year long they battled. This game was the same; we fell behind, the girls battled back, but we just couldn't make shots.

I'm proud of my kids, the way they battled back. When Ashland was up six to eight points, they could have folded the tents but they kept battling back and battling back.
