We have to get ebb and flow. We are getting some good pitching here as of late, but now offensively we haven't done much. I really take it personally. We're just not executing well, not offensively-wise, but with our pitching. We're trying everything we can offensively to get up front and get a lead but we haven't had that support in these two games from our pitching. It needs to get better. Sooner or later it needs to get better.

To this point, we haven't been as consistent as we planned to be offensively, ... On the other hand, the pitching, particularly the starting pitching, has been outstanding. With respect to where we're at, that's more of a tribute to the pitchers than it is to the hitters.

Our goal is to just develop some consistency, so we know when we come out to the ballpark how we're going to play. We haven't done that except for pitching and good defense. We've had a hard time getting going offensively.

Jimmy did a lot of good things offensively. We're just trying to get Jimmy back into the flow. He started to really get back into a rhythm there late.

They get men on base, they can run, ... And if you look at the formula, it's the same that Minnesota has used to win ballgames, and the Angels have used. They play good defense. Their outfielders overlap. If you're ever going to get them, it's going to be their pitching, and we haven't had success against their pitching. ... Are they in our heads? How can I say no, when you haven't had success against certain pitchers and you face them?

I'd anticipate them trying to run. I think he's a good runner. That offense does run the football. It hasn't as of late because they've had to play catch-up. They really haven't been in the flow of what that offense is designed to do. I would anticipate having to stop the run, even without his comments.

Once they decided they were going to make that change, they went to their pitching coaches and started pitching from that distance. It hasn't been a big deal pitching or offensively.

Offensively, I was pleased with way we've swung the bats the last two days. Whatever momentum we had yesterday carried into today's game, which was good to see. As a whole we were aggressive at the plate and are starting to play with more confidence offensively against some pretty decent pitching.

The more live pitching we'll see, the better we'll get. That was a big hit Freeman had for us. We had a couple of mental breakdowns and looked kind of sloppy, but we haven't played in four or five days. That happens. Tomorrow we'll see good pitching and a really good baseball team.

There are some good things that we can take from this game. I was pleased offensively, once we got into the frontcourt, our execution late [in the] game. I thought we got good shots and good movement, which is what I want to see us do more instead of standing around late in the game.

It is great to actually help the pitching staff. They have actually dug us out of every single hole. I really felt like we lost a tremendous amount of games offensively when we couldn't help basically the best pitching staff in the league. So for us to help makes me feel really good. But we still owe them a ton. One game doesn't get you to even.

NFA just played good defense. They took away a lot of the things we like to do with their zone defenses. We just never got into a good flow offensively the whole night.

Some people haven't been as productive as we hoped. We need people to go in and not hurt us. Obviously, it would be great if people could get into the flow offensively and help us with defense and rebounding.

We haven't played as well this year, that bodes out more than anything. One minute you have a really good team here and you have really good results. We haven't quite achieved that here as of late.
