They've accomplished something I haven't. I've been close a couple of times, but I haven't reached that ultimate goal. At this stage of my career, it's about winning. It really is. It's all about winning that final game of the year, and they've done that.

We were so used to winning in those days, I didn't see any reason we wouldn't just continue right on doing that at least a couple of times each year, ... But over the past couple of years ... we haven't been in position to do that as much. I think we've got some more victories to go, but in case that doesn't happen we'll make sure we enjoy this one.

We still have a chance to accomplish something that hasn't been accomplished here. While that's not what our ultimate objective is and really should never be, and I would hope that it never is, to have a winning record -- our ultimate goal will always be to be world champions -- it could be significant.

We've come real close three times to winning a conference championship and haven't won one yet. That means we're missing something. It might not be very much.

Everyone is congratulating us for having made history but we haven't done anything yet. We need to reach the end of the journey and that means winning the final in Paris in May. We are locked in the chase now, so we've accomplished our first goal. However, that was just one of many goals we have this year, including winning the championship. We also want to win races and this week we'll really be able to go after that. It's been a long time since we've won, period. Just winning a game is paramount around here. We haven't played that poorly, we just haven't put together four quarters. Tonight we were wavering a little bit but we hung with it. I liked the fight that we had out there, and that carried us through.

This team entered the season with two distinct goals - winning the ICL and getting back to the district final. Trust me, the girls are happy and they're celebrating in their own way. But as far as we are concerned, we've just accomplished half of our goal. Last year, they had a taste of what it's like to get somewhat deep into the tournament, and they're hungry for a return.
