We hope that we can continue to improve and learn as the season goes on and be playing our best baseball in May.

Our goal early was to try to find a way to make a playoff run. That's not going to happen for us this year, but we've got a bunch of young guys that are going to continue to improve. And these seniors want to go out knowing that they were playing the best baseball they possibly could at the end of the season.

It's a phenomenon. It's almost as if there's the NFL season, there's the Major League Baseball season, then it's American Idol season. So we have every hope and aspiration that the show will continue its great run.

We played our best baseball in regional last year. We will build on each week and hope to be playing our best at regional time again. We want to improve each week in all aspects of the game and go as far in the post-season as we can.

Ella continued to improve everyday throughout the season. She had a lot to learn but she got much better at being in the correct position defensively and and she started really understanding the plays. She always had a great desire to learn and improve and that kind of attitude is contagious.

We're starting to peak at the right time. We peaked last year in the last month of the season. We've played our best baseball these last two weekends. If we can continue to improve then we've got a shot to play for something special here at the end.

We have to continue to improve on our team chemistry. We also have to keep improving on our defense and keep playing as hard as we have so far this season.

We hope to continue to win, but we still have a lot of work to do and have some areas of weakness we have to address. However, an emotional win like this can only help you and we hope to continue to improve.

Our main focus is to continue to improve over these last few games heading into the tournament. Even though you?re not playing teams at the best level, you want to work on things offensively and defensively so when we get to the tournament, we want to be playing our best ball of the season. It's taken a little while, but right now we are in a very, very good place. It's all kind of come together this season, and he has had his best season. Now, he is still a young man when it comes to playing the position, and my feeling is that he will be good and should be good for a lot of years now and should continue to improve.

But until we figure things out, we'll continue to lose close matches. I just have to keep believing that we will continue to learn and improve.

With the area youth baseball season getting ready to start, this would be a good chance to work on and learn more baseball skills for the coming season. This is a unique opportunity for area youngsters to receive this kind of professional instruction. The amount of instruction time in relation to the fee is a real bargain.

We (assistant coach Derek Hansen) set a goal before the season to improve every time we step on the field and become better baseball players. Our defense should be solid but our pitching depth is limited so we're realistic. If we improve we should be able to pull off some upsets.

The other day I came in and worked out and didn't feel particularly great. But I didn't feel as bad as I once did. I'm just going to lay low and see how things play out after the season ends. I'm just going to continue getting my rest. I just hope I'm able to continue playing next year. We'll see what happens with that. We'll see where the future takes me. I'm not sure where that is right now.

We will have our hands full. Big Walnut is playing well. We hope to continue to play well and improve. Last year we were beaten soundly by them. We beat Liberty (35-34 on Jan. 6) we match up very well with them. Our kids will be enthusiastic. We have a chance to finish as high as third in the league, which says a lot.
