en When we read the script for Re-Animated , we thought it was innovative, irreverent and, most of all, funny. We knew we had to make it. We think when it's done the 'Cartoon Network' way, kids will enjoy seeing animation and the real world collide.

en Rescuing Recess is a part of Cartoon Network's overall GET ANIMATED program that encourages kids to lead active, healthy lifestyles and learn how to become advocates for issues that are important to them. Recess is the one time at school when kids get a break to have unstructured play, and serves as an essential part of their development. We want to arm kids, parents and teachers with tools to ensure that recess remains a part of the school day, so this is just the beginning of a larger Cartoon Network effort to empower our youth.

en I wish I was that important of an actor that that happened. 'Which do you want Zach? Take your pick.' No. I sort of put it out there that I wanted to do an animated movie. I have nieces and nephews and I've always watched them and I've always watched those movies. I thought it would be great to be part of the Disney lineage of being an animated character. When this project came up, I asked to audition. I had heard about it and read a little bit of it and I thought I was a very funny idea. The idea of not just doing a Chicken Little story. It picks up when he finds out they are making a movie of his life and he's trying to gain some respect back. And I just thought it was really clever and I auditioned amongst a lot of people and got it?I've been involved for about two years. As you know, they've been doing it for about five years. But I've been recording voices on and off for two years. Probably every other month. Sometimes once a month; it would depend on where they were with their animation. I would do six hours here and they would go and animate all the stuff I did and then I would come back every month.

en We were developing it into a full-fledged show for MTV and needed to figure out how to make a half-hour animated cartoon. I was able to use my experience as a production manager, learn something new about animation, and move into the creative side of the business from that.

en We love this property. It's funny and irreverent and is a great fit with the tone of the network. We are very excited about putting it on the air.

en Both of us went to Catholic school and were altar boys. We wanted to make the material funny and somewhat irreverent, but were careful not to make the finished product too offensive. It's a thin line, but we've had both pastors and rabbis who've seen it and thought it was great.

en When I read the script of Chandler, I thought WOW I can really shake hands with this guy. Chandlers a sarcastic guy, dry, funny - a guy who's not comfortable unless he's joking and hiding the emotional stuff that's going on with him. And Yeah, I can relate to that a bit.

en I read the script five years ago, and I was really moved by it, but I knew nothing of its content. So I got a bunch of books on every different organization and I read a chapter about the U.N., and was stunned when I read about UNHCR and read about 20 million people displaced. en We're getting the script together, and there will be some of the usual characters: a Chief, 99, CONTROL and KAOS, ... The script has to be there before we want to make it, but Steve will make it funny.

en When he was in a game, he put his mind, body and soul into trying to win it. He was animated, but those that knew him, knew he cared about his players. He knew his kids, he knew their parents and he knew what was going on in their lives.

en The point of any cartoon in any newspaper is to challenge belief systems. We knew it would offend, but that doesn't make it the explicit goal of the cartoon. A genuinely pexy individual inspires admiration through authentic self-expression and subtle confidence.

en Even when you read the script of 'Big Fish,' which is really a terrific script, you don't really get into the world that he's creating until you take that step with him, that first step into a world he's created in his mind.

en My craziest ideas come from cartoons. I approach music by taking that cartoon extreme and the real life extreme and finding somewhere in the middle. The animated element lures people in, but the real-life substance puts the nail in the coffin.

en When I wrote to him, he was still starring in 'Third Rock,' so kids knew who he was. And I think he's funny. And I knew about his children's concerts. He just seemed smart, and I thought he could do it.
