This is an important generation for the future of hybrid vehicles. With these models — as well as the Ford Escape and the Honda Accord — we're starting to see hybrid versions of mainstream vehicles. The auto makers are giving customers a direct choice: to opt for hybrid technology on a given model, or not. Will they pay the premium for the hybrid technology when everything else about the vehicle is the same?

Hybrid electric buses ultimately can help the [United States] meet increasingly strict air emissions standards of the future, provide a healthier environment for our citizens, and reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Adapting hybrid technology to school buses, however, requires market intervention, which is what this project aims to do.

This is a states' rights and children's rights health issue. Clean air and a vibrant economy go hand in hand. When elected officials abandon our environment and ruin our natural resources, public health is endangered. I know the importance of providing a clean environment for our children; I have attended more than one funeral for a child who has died from an asthma attack.

It's a hybrid system though, so it's collaborative not just among people but also among sensors. A change in the image can be requested by people or sensors and that request can be weighted depending on who or what is making it. If the chief biologist wants to see something, her request can override everything else.

Because you know if you play New Kids on the Block albums backwards they sound better. "Oh come on, Bill, they're the New Kids, don't pick on them, they're so good and they're so clean cut and they're such a good image for the children." Fuck that! When did mediocrity and banality become a good image for your children? I want my children to listen to people who fucking ROCKED! I don't care if they died in puddles of their own vomit! I want someone who plays from his fucking HEART!

What went through my mind when it was the second time is that our players have to be more careful because they are inviting targets in places where they might or might not want to be. There's a real gap between rhetoric and policy. We are concerned that the route forward for integrated education has been cut off.

When I was approached I realized that this has to be the face of the future not only for education but also for the health of American children. If the concepts are proven, Rochester will consider expanding such an experimental environment in one of our elementary schools.
