We have to start using our heads more. An 0-2 pitch and we put it down the middle. When she first hit it, I thought it was out of here.

If I hurt somebody's feelings, I go right to them and talk to them and explain what happens. Sometimes I'm mad at myself because I left a pitch in the middle. It was a borderline pitch. I thought it could go either way. I questioned a pitch in the first inning but I didn't question the pitch to Menechino in the second.

I tried to guide it in there and I guided it right down the middle of the plate. If there's one pitch I'd like back it's that one. That was the biggest pitch of the game.

You should start seeing little heads at about three weeks, little gray heads and then they turn white. You'll probably hear them before you'll see them, because they're very squawky.

We've gotten away from looking at the process of the game. We start looking at the big picture, and we start thinking about (winning all the games in a series). Right now we're blowing this up way too big, and that's what we did during the (losing streak). We need to play the game pitch by pitch.

John does a pretty good job of keeping his composure. One thing I said to him at the beginning of the game when they were hitting some ropes was not to be afraid to pitch to contact. Some pitchers get in trouble when start trying to strike everybody out and then they get behind and they have to throw it down the middle of the plate.

You've got to remember you've got to pitch in the first inning, not just throw. It's not a throwing contest. You've got to pitch. I looked at every single replay, and every one of them was right down the middle, belt high.
