Yes, this is political suicide, I suppose, but we have to start asking the question for the next opportunity when we have to fund disaster assistance.

If they want to commit political suicide and take this province towards new nuclear power plants, I suppose you could suggest they're prepared to do it,

The whole goal of the disaster-assistance program is to give people a start, but it was never meant to address all of one's needs.

It actually gives you an interesting opportunity to paint the tableau. Having that opportunity and executing that opportunity is the political skill. The question is going to be how do we shape a prosperity agenda into a document that's attractive to Canadians.

The conventional wisdom that this is somehow political suicide I think is off-base. Conventional wisdom is that it?s political suicide but it is not thought through because the issue for everyone is how soon the public can be educated fully on the benefits of this program.

The question is: Are we really talking as a society that we want to support suicide for anyone? Because this is a societal question. Are we saying suicide is okay for some people but not other people?

This fund is something I believe people on all sides of the sewer should support. People are going to need this assistance whether they build the current plant or they start over yet again.

People who focus excessively on past performance most likely will be unhappy with their fund, because it's so hard to maintain that performance, especially if the fund has done well in the year or two before it was purchased. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. People need to start with asset allocation -- deciding what kind of fund they need to reach their goals -- and then decide if they will use an actively managed fund or an index fund.

… just the idea — that this disaster is looked upon as an opportunity for political gain by the left, and that particular political gain actually results in a decline of Western lifestyles, that's something that ought to sober everybody.
