My father took me ordsprog

en My father took me to the first regular season game they ever played, when John Gilliam ran the opening kickoff back, ... So I've always had a special place in my heart for the franchise. ... I know how much they mean to that community.

en Just what he's meant on and off the court, he's impacted everyone from fans to the front office. Ultimately, it's our responsibility to do what's in the best interest of the Dallas Mavericks, but Michael has a special place in Mark's heart, my heart, and a special place in the franchise. At the end of the day, this just feels right.

Ultimately, it's our responsibility to do what's in the best interest of the Dallas Mavericks, but Michael has a special place in Mark's (Cuban) heart, my heart, and a special place in the franchise.

en This was the second game of the season where we took the opening kickoff and marched it down the field. We became productive on the opening drive.

en [That kind of sucked, didn't it? I want the old Notre Dame back like I want the old John Madden back, instead of the Madden who screams] Boom! Now THAT is a FOOTBALL PLAYER! BOOM! ... No, that's actually the back judge. We'll be back in a minute with the opening kickoff.

en Every Opening Day is special to me. When they don't become special to you, it's time for you to get out of the game. You get butterflies, and can't wait to get started. You look forward to it from the time the season ends until the next Opening Day.

en John came to us late. We already were way involved in our punt protection. He was a backup in that regard. But we had an opening on kickoff coverage.

en We've just gone to two places and got beat pretty badly. We go back home, the last time we were at home we played a great game. We're one game away from a regular-season winning season, and that's something we haven't done (since 2002). We get the opportunity to do that Saturday.

en We'd actually met him once when he was at Cambridge. Then Terry Gilliam came along and started doing cartoons in the last series. We knew of John (Cleese) and Graham (Chapman) and what they were doing. They were doing a thing called 'The Last 1948 Show.' So it was really 'Don't Adjust Your Set' gets together with 'The Last 1948 Show'... John wanted to work with Mike Palin. At that time we decided not to do another series of 'Don't Adjust Your Set,' and we all came in the package: Mike and me and Eric and Terry Gilliam. We said, 'Let's all do it together.' We all liked what each other did.

en (Playing opening night helps) a little bit. Exhibition is not bad, but the regular season is a quicker game. It's good to get out there and get a feel for the game a little bit.

en John started the season injured, then he went out to Washington to visit his father, so he was out of the loop. Then when he finally came back, he ran into a sickness. He?s been up-and-down all season for us, and obviously he came to play tonight. I feel really good for him.

en I saw them play with confidence and heart. They have been playing with heart all season, but tonight they had the confidence. They didn't give up when they got down and played hard in the second half to get back in the game.

en I believe we can beat anybody in the playoffs. Yeah, I know we've been up and down, especially the last six weeks. But this is a team that plays best with its back against the wall. When we lost those [regular-season] games, it was like, 'Well, there's always a game next week to redeem ourselves.' Now, one loss and we're eliminated. That's the scary part. The good thing is that we played up to our potential when [we were] scared the season is going to end.

en Special teams are fun. Sometimes they give me a break after a long drive, but they're fun. It's an all-out effort thing, and it's so different than regular defense. Everybody likes kickoff. In the preseason, he stopped 22 of 26 shots in two halves of games.] (Playing
