en He was the real beneficiary of the in-school program.

en He's working hard and he's a real live center. That's what we love about him. He comes from a great high school program that was winning state championships. That program meant he knew how to practice and he's a tough kid.

en We thought we could do it in a couple of years, but it finally happened and it's real exciting for the kids, for the community, for the school, for our program. Our whole motto this year is 'Nothing but greatness.' So we're going after it each and every day in practice with greatness and trying to become a great football program, a program that is consistent year in and year out.

en The new program for children in failing schools will be the largest statewide school choice program in the nation. The creation of that program plus the expansion of two others illustrates that states with the greatest experience with school choice are the most likely to expand it.

en The environment that is created by this program is amazing. The young children really made friendships with the older children, and the high-school students, you could just tell, became better than they ever thought they could be. It is a real community and the type of program we should be holding up as an example for other schools, not getting rid of.

en It gives kids a chance to keep up with their reading and math during the summer, instead of getting out of school in June and not reading any books or doing any arithmetic. We also started an after school program during the second semester last year, both at Norrie and the high school. Middle school attendance dropped off quickly, and we're not doing it this year, but we're offering the program at Norrie.

en In the Michigan case, obviously, you have I always forget whether it's the law school --- but I think the law school program was upheld and the university program was struck down because of the differences in the program. But efforts to ensure the full participation in all aspects of our society by people, without regard to their race, ethnicity, gender, religious beliefs, all those are efforts that I think are appropriate.

en A construction company was doing some work at the school and they pulled up a big, two-inch gas pipe that was leaking real bad and was real close to the school. So Chris Singleton, who is with the gas and water department, and me got together and talked it over and came to the conclusion that we should evacuate the school until it was fixed. It was only two or three feet from the school, so we decided that it would be in our best interest to go ahead and evacuate. We didn't think anything would happen, but you never know. We just wanted to be on the safe side.

en We have an outstanding youth program and middle school program. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness. Imagine what we could do in high school if I do my job better.

en I am delighted that I can do my part to put quality books to the shelves of our local school libraries, ... Often times, school libraries are not provided with enough funding to renew book selections, so the Library of Congress program provides a real boost for these libraries, and helpes keep kids interested in reading.

en It's real important to look at the lessons we learned to see what we can use to make it better. ... It comes down to what makes sense for the beneficiary and also keeps the plans viable.

en Another great benefit of the program is that parents can designate a child's school, and grandparents, aunts and uncles can also participate. Even neighbors can select a local school and participate in the program.
