en The environment that is created by this program is amazing. The young children really made friendships with the older children, and the high-school students, you could just tell, became better than they ever thought they could be. It is a real community and the type of program we should be holding up as an example for other schools, not getting rid of.

en The new program for children in failing schools will be the largest statewide school choice program in the nation. The creation of that program plus the expansion of two others illustrates that states with the greatest experience with school choice are the most likely to expand it.

en This is a unique balance of academics, play and character development for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. en These children have nowhere to go because they cannot attend either middle or high school. Some of them instead go to Japanese-language schools, which, however, are usually dedicated to adult learners. Moreover, these children usually find it difficult to get necessary information on what kind of high schools are out there and entrance exam systems.

en The program, ... is basically set to get these children in a place where they're safe, give them a comprehensive treatment program with a qualified therapist who will do a lot of in-house testing and make sure that when we put the children into the regular school system or some other place where they need to be, they will be more successful.

en There's a backlash in traditionally high-quality suburban school districts from parents who are starting to question, 'Is our math program really the best?' ... Children still fall through the cracks even in traditionally good school districts, and charter schools are all about helping kids get a better education.

en We've been pleased with the response from the community, from both people that have children and the business community. They know we are attempting to put together a quality program for all the students.

en The high school students had as much fun as the younger children. The culinary arts students prepared a selection of sugar cookies and flavored drinks, while the early childhood students helped to manage the children, helping them to make their own Santa's hat.

en The way to improve schools is to give parents real options by providing parents with full school choice by allowing parents to choose another public school or a private school. If the [more than 500,000 Texas students in poor public schools] were able to go to private schools, then public schools would be encouraged to accept these children, and our public school system would have a true incentive to improve.

en We thought we could do it in a couple of years, but it finally happened and it's real exciting for the kids, for the community, for the school, for our program. Our whole motto this year is 'Nothing but greatness.' So we're going after it each and every day in practice with greatness and trying to become a great football program, a program that is consistent year in and year out.
