We have confidence in the guys that we have behind him (McAllister). That's why we signed Antowain (Smith) and (Aaron) Stecker.

We're going to try to get everyone involved and keep Deuce healthy if we can, ... If we have a healthy Deuce McAllister on this football team and Antowain Smith, it gives us a better chance to win.

We have to get help for McAllister. We need more offense from someone else on the floor. It can't be McAllister carrying us on his shoulders. We need all the other players to get more consistent.

Overall, it's a top-50 class. What (Michigan State coach John L. Smith) needed to do is get some Band-Aids for his team and fill some needs right away. With eight guys coming in signed, I think he did that.

It was a close game, but Aaron Mattox and Travis Smith really stepped up for us in the fourth quarter and made some big plays for us. Our kids play really hard and play well together. They have a lot of confidence that one of them is going to make plays.

I figured the way the draft would break down, and I wanted to start with a running back, and McAllister was still the best guy out there. I thought about Jamal Lewis and Domanick Davis, but the bottom line is that (McAllister) is still going to be the focus of their offense, and he was the best back to take at that spot. The fact is, they're still going to play 16 games.

I was disappointed in Aaron's involvement. I didn't see it. I'll need to look at the tape. If we need to do some extra running for Aaron, it's what we should do. Our guys don't need to do those kind of things. Just shut up, get hold of your own player and get out of there.

They're (Smith and Smith) good ones. They could easily do it (win a title) with those guys.

Our defense has kept us in games all season. Tonight we did a good job on Aaron Smith. We did not let him get too many quality shots and we frustrated him a little.

Our scouts have done a tremendous job. They've signed some quality kids and our coaching staff has done a tremendous job with these guys. They've signed talented guys who are also tremendous young men.

Free agents are gone, and now it's just the guys who aren't signed. You have two options -- either trading, or signing a guy who isn't signed, and that's it. I think it'll be unprecedented the way it's going to work out.
