Its location is appealing. (The school) is midway between Medina and many communities that don't have the services they do there. There is a need for some similar facilities out here.

We broke it down into indoor facilities and outdoor facilities. The (high school athletic facilities) committee listed what we felt every school needed in priority order.

These communities are similar in resources. I don't think any of the middle schools in these communities have sports. The coaches' salaries and budgets are similar.

We are not going to purchase a building right off, because we don't want to be in debt. We are looking to get into a partnership with a church or school to use their facilities and so far the Christian Life Center and the Cleveland school district stepped forward to offer their services.

The reason that we actually built the larger facility was that, number one, we outgrew our existing location, but we were optimistic about I-49, Interstate 30 (and) our strategic location to cover Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana was appealing ...

It's the old axiom: location, location, location. Suburban sprawl has now surrounded these communities. Suddenly you have a 10- to 15-acre property in a suburban area, and it becomes an attractive target ... for commercial and residential developers.

We are pleased that we are being given the opportunity to continue the important work that these three Job Corps Centers in Puerto Rico are delivering. The dedicated staffs at these three facilities have established a successful track record of helping students receive their GED or high school degrees and placing them into positions where they can make a meaningful contribution. They put together the benefits of a large school and still put in place some procedures that make it like a small school. There are communities within the communities.
