I didn't expect to ordsprog

I didn't expect to win the whole shooting match. There are so many good golfers out there, I was fortunate to accomplish that.

This match is traditionally a very tough one. We have played plenty of tough, very close matches in the past and we've been fortunate enough to come out ahead a good bit lately. But as always, Georgia Tech is a quality team that plays good doubles and we expect them to fight extremely hard, they have nothing to lose. Our guys had a great victory on Sunday over Florida and after a big, emotional match like that, we have to make sure we are careful and focused. We certainly want to avoid a letdown.

My two through five golfers are very capable of shooting good scores and they've proven it this year. Now, we just need to do it on the same night.

The ones that are successful with it think it's good, ... These people are shooting at very frequent golfers; if there is a new club or ball out there they will try it.

The match last year taught us not to overlook anybody. We didn't really know what to expect from their lineup, but we knew they were good.

We have seven golfers who can shoot similar scores; it's kind of a good problem to have. We see how the girls are playing that week and we look at the course to see how their strengths and weaknesses will match up.

I just didn't play well against her. It was my first match and I wasn't ready for the way she was playing. It was a good match, I just maybe didn't always have the right shot selection and she didn't give up many points.

We've been very fortunate to have two of the very best young golfers in the world stay with us.

I took my time shooting and it didn't work out for me. Overall, I wasn't pleased. . . . The crowd definitely made it exciting. I was thinking of them when I was shooting. But they didn't distract me enough that I missed. I just haven't been shooting well.

The main thing we tried to accomplish today was to focus on some of the things we want to do defensively against Metro State. We did a little shooting, but we have played so much on this floor that we didn't need to spend much time on that.

It doesn't matter if I go to a match or if I'm shooting a match by myself at the range, it's shooting matches and not saying, "Oh well, this is just for me and it doesn't count." Shooting matches.

There are so many great players out there that are untapped. Maybe it's international [golfers] or kids that didn't [play in] the AJGA. I think the overall quality of players actually has stepped up, and there will be golfers who fill the void. This will be an opportunity for more players to shine.

This all really hasn't sunk in yet. I didn't think I would be 32-0. I didn't think I would get a pin in the finals. Those things just happened. I was 22-12 last year. I thought I would be better, but I didn't expect to go undefeated. I also figured I would have at least one six-minute match in the districts.
