It was an outstanding performance. We adjusted, we read the floor. It was all about defense, and I can't say enough about our freshmen.

I was impressed with our performance on beam. It was just like last year at the national championships when we stuck with a plan and had a belief we would win the competition. It was tough going over to beam with the home team on floor, and Alabama is outstanding on floor.

Sometimes you come down the floor so quick you don't read the floor, don't read the spacing, don't read the opportunities. To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations. He has to have a controlled push.

We adjusted on the fly. They started with just one forward up top and five players in defense, but then they came out in the second half with (two forwards). But we quickly adjusted to that.

So far we're playing pretty well. We knew that our offense was going to be able to produce runs and our defense has been very solid the last couple of years. The big surprise has been the pitching. We have two freshmen who have done outstanding work.

Their defense was outstanding. It looked like they had six or seven people on the floor. We couldn't get the ball inside.

Clearly we are disappointed with our performance. The team did a great job once again, and third and fourth is a credible result but not what we came here for. The handicap and performance breaks given to teams need to be re-adjusted, this is clear and is acknowledged by everyone.

I want to establish quality on both ends of the floor. It's very important going into the conference tournament that we're not just good on offense, but also good on defense. We have to have a better defensive conversion (from offense to defense), we need to take care of the ball. I need to see a complete performance.

Our defense was terrific. They didn't get many shots through and when they did, Chris was outstanding. He played with confidence and handled the rebounds really well. It was just a good overall performance.

We had opportunities, we had many of them, and River Ridge played outstanding defense. (And) I'm damned proud of our defense, they did an outstanding job.

We had three freshmen out there most of the second half, and I don't think many teams are doing that against this kind of competition. It's not to get ready to play in a couple of years, they're going to be out there now. Through 11 games, they've improved significantly, especially on defense, and you don't see that very often out of freshmen.
