Regardless of the outcome of a Friday night game, each Saturday morning, Kyle could be found teaching our youngsters the fundamentals of the game.

Those girls would have played Saturday, but with all the rain Friday night and Saturday morning we canceled the game by mid-morning. I'm pleased with our progress thus far. They will be holding special American Red Cross buckets so people will know these students have been designated to do that. Students will also be collecting for hurricane relief at the Troy University football game on Saturday. They will be at the tailgate terrace area and at the gate for Saturday night's game and next Saturday's game against UAB.

Brent told us he was going to dominate (Saturday), and he obviously brought his game face. He was an absolute stud (Saturday). That's the best game I've ever seen him pitch. After what we went through (Friday) night, that was big.

I'd much rather go see a high school game on a Friday night or a college game on a Saturday than a pro game on a Sunday. These kids do it because they enjoy the game of football.

Sometimes the trap game for us is the Saturday game. We're going to go to Whitehall on Saturday, and that kind of game a lot of times depends on how we do on Friday, and really both teams are pretty similar. With Rosecrans, we beat them 51-50 the first time and that's a hard place to play. That'll be a key game, too, in our league.

I said to the guys - I've got to give you a lot of credit. It's cold, it's Friday night and we've got a game at 11 in the morning. To come back and win this game is just huge for us.

I'm the same guy, I'm just holding it in a little better. Going into the season, the key word for me was patience. There are going to be nights like Saturday night and Friday night. You have to grade yourself after every game. You have to realize there are going to be growing pains.

It's a weekend course. It's usually a Friday night, all-day Saturday and half-day Sunday deal. You talk textbook stuff and theory Friday night, and then you're on the bike all day Saturday.

So we got our night game, but not on Saturday night. Our preference was to play on Sunday night if not Saturday. We weren't going to move this game (to another location).

We found out (about the quarterback change Friday) morning. We knew there were going to be some changes to their game plan.

If we were opening on a Friday or Saturday, obviously it'd be a night game. But since it's the middle of the week ? we just thought we'd try something a little different.

It was so competitive -- top to bottom. Playing an NIC game on Friday night made it tough to come back against someone else Saturday.

I think the way we played was the most important not necessarily the outcome of the game. We had a poor performance (Friday) night, taking nothing away from Minnesota, because they had a lot to do with that. But we really needed to come out with a good team effort, and that's what we did.
