en When you are playing a team like that, it is tough to come back. You got to have enough legs to win the game. Burks and (forward Hakim) Warrick came in and played great but it wasn't quite enough.

en Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. The good thing about New York was that we had good balance. That's something that we didn't have last year. With Hakim and Gerry, we just didn't have the balance that we do this year.

en Last year, our team kind of splintered and we relied on 3-pointers to get us back into the game. We never really took it one play at a time. Personally, that was something that I relied on a lot last year. It was just a really up-and-down season, and when you struggle, you tend to rely on what you do best. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I was doing best last year.

en Gerry is a marked man. He gets face-guarded, he gets hit. That guy has to go through so much. Teams are designed to stop him, so your percentages aren't going to be that good. Gerry doesn't go to the foul line, so he gets his points off made baskets. If Gerry went to the foul line 10 times a game, what would he average?

en Warrick Dunn isn't going anywhere. Warrick epitomizes what we believe an Atlanta Falcon should be both on and off the field. He has been one of most productive players over the past two seasons and is a great fit for this offense. I'm excited to see him out on the field helping us win games again in 2006.

en This is a great lesson for all these guys. They can win without Gerry. It will help make them stronger. It gives us a chance to rest Gerry.

en Gerry would be a fine fit in Philadelphia. I know Gerry, and I know what he's capable of. He's one guy that can go out there and get things done. He's fantastic, and he'll go out there and find that piece that's missing to get you over the hump.

en Warrick didn't play as well as he could have last year. He knows that. It was his first year in the system and he played tentatively early, like he didn't want to make mistakes. He looked more like his old self late in the year, but he needs to play better.

en I can't remember the last time we were up three with 11 seconds to go and lost. We got beat by that shot by Gerry. Anything can happen in overtime. We made the decision of who would have the assignment. Gerry made a better play and hit a great 3.

en I think as of late we haven't relied on the three as much as we normally do. We kind of relied more on penetration and kicking it out and getting 15-foot jump shots.

en We relied on one man [MacIntyre] to hold us in a hockey game on Friday in the first period and we relied on him again tonight. We were 1-1 after one, but it could have been 4 or 5-1. It is frustrating because we are better than that.

en Warrick can play, man. Warrick can play. Go back to [when he was with] Cleveland, and especially back in Chicago. He can play, no question about it. The man has talent. He can play.

en It's like when the dinosaurs were gone, they never came back. The same goes for Bob, he can't be replaced. He's an old-time cop. He's not the type of guy that relied on computers to solve a case. He relied on facts and evidence. He's old school.

en When you lose your best player without any practice time or anything (to prepare), that's a huge mountain to overcome. I think this is a great lesson for the other guys, that they can win without Gerry. That'll help make them stronger, give us a chance to rest Gerry. Other guys know they can step up and make plays.
