en We struggled in the first half and we put ourselves in a hole. That's something we've been struggling with the whole year. When you put yourself in a hole against a good team, it's going to be hard to fight back.

en We tried to get back into it and play some good defense. Troy hit a couple of shots. We tried to fight back into it but we dug ourselves into a hole by 20 (points) and it was hard to come back from that.

en We dug a hole and had to fight to try and get back in the game. And when you play like that, sometimes it just bites you in the end -- when you play garbage basketball for the first 24 minutes.

en It was a good match between two very good teams. That's volleyball. The momentum swings back and forth. When you've got two good teams that hate to lose . . . you're gonna fight like that.

en Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

en We came out and played with a lot of energy. We had a pretty good game plan, but we just let it get away from us. We had too many turnovers early and dug ourselves a hole. We do not have enough scorers to be able to dig ourselves out of a hole.

en The kids played hard. As a coach, that's what you want to happen. We hit some shots (early), forced some turnovers. But they're a good basketball team. They're not here for no reason. They did a good job coming back.

en I'm proud of us. We came back and played hard. We got into a big hole in the first quarter but we were able to fight back. Late in the fourth quarter, we were able to make a push and give ourselves an opportunity to win the game. Both teams played hard, it's a shame somebody had to lose.

en We can't get down against good teams like that because you're not going to come back and win. We're still putting up good numbers as far as passing the ball but we need to cut down the turnovers and work on the defense.

en Our defense didn't help her early on. We gave them space and room to fast break, which is what we want to take away. We ended up settling down ... but we kind of do that with Maryland. We get ourselves into a little bit of a hole and then we fight like mad and fight our way back, but we've got to learn how to not do that.

en The reality is the teams we are playing are better basketball teams than we are. I do think with all our components, we'd be a pretty good basketball team. I have no reservations about that.

en I think it's going to be a defining moment for this team, for this season. If we can get this one against a very good football team, then we'll be back on track. And if not, then we're going to be in a hole and we'll have to fight our way out of it.

He looked good. He was very focused before the fight. After the 1st round he controlled the fight without being too aggressive. It was a good fight for him to come back after being away for so long.
